Default RB Anthony Thomas- your thoughts?

So it appears that no one is lining up to acquire the services of this productive Chicago back. What are your thoughts on his potential with Dallas?

He could surely be had for a reasonable price.
He has plenty of experience. (4 seasons)
He is probably prepared to accept a backup role.
He has the size and run style to compliment JJ nicely. (6'2", 225)
He has been pretty productive on a very weak offense.

Bring him on. IMO.

I thought I heard/read that he signed with someone already. Or have I just been hit in the head a few too many times?

He's still out there I believe... I'd be all for it... but, if he wanted to be a back up, why wouldn't he just stay in Chi town??

Not signed as far as i know.

He'd be a good signing... Has starting experience. Contrasting style to Julius.

BUT... I hear the reason he hasn't signed is he is determind to be a starter (and wants too much money of course). If his demands would drop then I'd be open to it. Seems like a good enough fit.

But I'm willing to take a chance in rounds 4-6 with this draft class.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

We have a winner!!!!!!!!

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I would love Anthony Thomas-

hopefully he ll recognize that he is not desired as a starter in the league right now- the only way to prove it is to get on the field-

he would be a great sub for Julius jones

He would be a good back for us to have and sometimes* a change of scenery works wonders for a player.

I think he's finding out Free Agency doesn't do a whole lot for the ego if you think too much of yourself.
I had an apartment and I had a neighbor, and whenever he would knock on my wall I knew he wanted me to turn my music down and that made me angry 'cause I like loud music... so when he knocked on the wall, I'd mess with his head. I'd say, "Go around! I cannot open the wall! I dunno if you have a doorknob on your side but over here there's nothin'. It's just flat."

Eddie George part deux, the reason Eddie wasn't productive (besides the fact that he sucks these days) is that he was way too slow to hit the crease. Our OL only gives you a crease for a split second and then its gone. A-Train would have the same problem running behind our OL. I think our COP needs to be quick to the hole.
Oh wait, we have a guy named Rashard Lee that's like that, who also happens to be a very good KR. Lee was the only flash of a running game we had while Julius was out. I know BP doesn't like him a whole lot because of his inability to pick up the pass rush, but maybe he needs another year. This is what....his second or third year?
Besides, I think FS, DE, LB, WR, and RT are more important right now. Sure, love to have one more starting caliber RB, but we only have so many draft picks and none of the FAs really "do it" for me. There are likely to be some candidates on day two of this draft anyway. There's also Bickerstaff who we really have no idea about what he'll do. I say hold off...I think adding too many free agents can be bad for a team at some point.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

The problem with Eddie was that he had to carry the load for more games than was desired, with Jones on the sidelines. ATrain is still young enough to find holes (and make them when necessary) in a backup role. Kinda like the effectiveness of Hambrick when he was a backup....

One answer... NOPE!!! ReShard Lee is better than that guy.

I don't believe in team motivation. I believe in getting a team prepared so it knows it will have the necessary confidence
when it steps on a field and be prepared to play a good game... Tom Landry

That... coupled with the fact he has stated he wants to start...

He has some skills... but he would need to have a team mentality rather than a starting mentality to do us any good...

That last thing we need is another controversy on this team... especially during the season...

I like atrain... never really understood his fall from grace. Is he much worse or any worse than Lamont Jordan... I'm not sure. Maybe he has some other issues we are unaware of.

I like the guy out of San Diego... Jesse Chatman..or Chapman.. I forget. He's a big small guy and still can move, has quickness for a guy his weight.

I disagree...Eddie had been bad for years... A-train is not quite that bad. The problem with him is he's no home run hitter... he's a 4yrds/carry kinda back.. though he doesn't always get t beciase of the bears horrid passing game.

Regardless... he has good vision... hit the hole well.. and can grind out 4-5 yards at a time. he can also get tough yards... he could start a game or 2 and be okay but i wouldn't want him to start too many.

would rather have somebody like Darren Sproles

there's a reason nobody is "lining up" to acquire Thomas' services
