I'm of the same opinion as 41gy and SDogo.
I prefer DeCastro, but in case he is already gone and we can't trade down,
I think you have to seriously consider Glenn.
The other guy that I would love to get an opinion on is Poe. I guess he works out today, but is he a legitimate option at 14 if we can't trade down and DeCastro is gone?
Let's say DeCastro is gone (along with Brockers and Coples on the DL), and you have
Ingram
Upshaw
Poe
Glenn
D Still
Fitzpatrick, and
Jenkins
Who do you choose between the players above? (And let's assume we don't take a RB or WR.)
And let's also assume we pick up a decent CB in FA before the Draft.

Isn't Poe considered a day 2 pick?

There's a lot of talk the Steelers could take him at 24 (I think that's their pick).
I think he has been considered a 2nd half Round 1 pick to date.
But those large guys often move up a bit going into the Draft.
Poe probably isn't a priority, but I was curious whether the Cowboys thought highly of him. I guess for a DT prospect, he may be a good choice - assuming DeCastro is already gone.

Glenn is like Nate Solder, tons of potential, but there are going to be growing pains and moments of concern. Your going to entertain the idea of pulling him but let him play it out and you will be better at years end for it.
3 or 4 years down the road it all may level out and I don't think one will be significantly better then the other but those first 2 years are critical.
Also BS to all the talk that Glenn can play OT at the next level.

Poe is considered a late first/early second type of prospect from the rankings that I have seen . His production wasn't great this year , but he has all the potential that you could wish for .

I've seen him in the 1st and the 2nd, not sure there's a concensus but he could certainly go in the late 1st.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

I like Glenn a lot. Reminds me of Shawn Andrews before the depression problems kicked in.

Good Comparison, maybe Glenn has a little better agility but yeah, I see it.

Decastro vs. Glenn
Jones vs. Johnson
We got cute going against the common beliefs and although not a swing and miss with Jones, we sure didn't make the right choice. I see the choice here as the exact same thing. If we make the choice contrary to proven performance we will have Excessive Rueage Syndrom.

The Board
Upon observation from last year, it appears the Front Office is beginning to show some discipline and sticking to their Board in order to take the BPA.
If DeCastro is 14 on our Board and he's available, then fine. But, would Glenn be 14 or below if DeCastro goes before 14? Doubt it.
Then, who would be and will the Front Office stick with the Board?
BTW - if DeCastros is 14 for us and he goes earlier, that means someone the Front Office ranks as 1-13 falls to us. There appears to only be one OL in the top 13.

In 2008, we took Felix Jones when Chris Johnson was on the board. The conventional wisdom at the time was that Johnson was the better prospect. We over analyzed the player and made the wrong pick.
Don't get cute based on some obscure stat. Take the guy that has shown the body of work and is most ready to produce.

all Glenn has shown really is that he has speed. And is a lot bigger.
Decastro is much more polished; much more of a technician. He is quicker and clearly more agile. Blocking in space he will do better picking up quick LBs and others that Glenn might whiff on.
