yeah a 4.5 first attempt and a 4.78 second attempt. Shows you technique plays a big factor in good or bad 40 times. Track guys has a advantage in the 40. But still the kids has alot of weeks and months to train for the 40 and the other drills so idk. Could show a bad work ethic or etc.

Somehow he got a third run at it. Ran a 4.59.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

They said the scouts were complaining about the disparity between the times. It's not the first time a guy has done a 3rd run.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

I wonder how serious the Cowboy's interest is in Hightower. I could see them really like him for his leadership traits, his smarts on the field and the idea that they think he might be able to play a couple of roles on Ryan's defense.

Kendricks ran a great time as well. One of my favourite guys in the draft.

I'm starting to come around on this guy... he might be a good pick for the Boys at 14, or better still, after a small trade down...
At this point, I have 5 players I'm targeting at pick 14, or again, perhaps after a small trade down:
David DeCastro, OG, Stanford... ranked 9th by NFL Draft Scout, he'd have to slip some to be there at 14, but guards sometimes do... if he's there, I take him, no matter who else is on the board...
Fletcher Cox, DE/DT, Mississippi State... just put up a sub-4.8 second 40 at almost 300 pounds at the Combine... he had 5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss this past season, and has blocked 5 kicks in his college career... ranked 21st by NFLDS...
Cordy Glenn, OG/OT, Georgia... one of my pet cats, he reminds me a lot of Leonard Davis coming out of college... rated 23rd by NFLDS, but I look for his ranking to improve after his work at the Combine... ultimately, don't be surprised if he winds up in the top 20... he's clearly the 2nd best guard in this class, behind only DeCastro...
Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis... all I'll say is that Mayock and the others on NFLN were compaing him to Haloti Ngata... I was surprised when he put up a 40 time well under 5 seconds, going into today all the times I'd seen for him were in the 5.2-5.3 second range... so he's significantly quicker than I thought he was... ranked 27th by NFLDS, but again, that may be on the rise after his Combine performance...
Dont'a Hightower, ILB/OLB, Alabama... the emotional leader of a great Alabama defense, and a real physical force in the middle of that defense... offers some pass rush from inside, posting 4 sacks and 8 hurries this past season... ranked 29th by NFLDS...
I think if I was Jerry, I'd hold on to pick 14 and hope that DeCastro falls that far... but if he doesn't, trade down to around pick 20, and you should still be able to pick from at least 2 or 3 of the last 4... IMO, any one of the 5 would help the Boys immediately...

Agree 100%.
I would only add Luke Kuechly if top targets are off the board.

I get more and more comfortable with Hightower every day.
