Tim McMahon fave cowboys moment

diehards only

i'm interested in hearing every dallas fan on this forum's fave dallas moment!

here's a few to choose from:

1. jimmy johnson saying " how bout them cowboys"
2. alvin harper catching the slant against sf to seal the deal!
3. emmitt playing one armed against the giants. truly one of the best games ever!
4. hail mary
5. emmitt breaking the rushing record, the best part of that however was when he grabbed moose and would not let go, got a little teary on that one.
6. tony's 99 yard run, priceless
7. 1980 playoff win against atlanta
8. the first playoff win of the 90's against chicago in soldier field, you could get a feeling we were on our way back!

those are just a few, tell me yours!

peace, lane

Great List man, truly awesome. Definitely Jimmy saying "how bout them cowboys". After that, the first 100 yard game emmitt had against the eagles, think it was 167 and Mr White was huffin and puffin as we ran the ball all over them in the 4th quarter. Also the game against the giants that you referenced, have that one on video tape.

I loved the 1995 NFC Championship game against the Packers. It was just electric.

Would loved to have been there when Michael Buffer yelled "Let's get ready to rumble!" right before kickoff.

Not the greatest moment, favorite analogy : Troy Aikman interview...."for 11 years, watching Emmitt run, I had the best seat in the house".
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss

“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.

God help us...............

Watching Randy White, Harvey Martin and the Boys CRUSH those cans of Orange Crush on the sidelines in the last few minutes of the Superbowl victory against Denver.....

Anyway, nitpickiness aside --

1. Super Bowl XXVII - Troy Aikman throwing the bomb to Alvin Harper to seal the first SB victory after that trashy Frank Reich TD that still gave Buffalo a glimmer of hope.

2. Watching Emmitt overtake Walter Payton in a rowdy Brooklyn sports bar and being able to tell all the haters to and recognize greatness.

3. Every time we beat the SF 49ers.

4. Watching the Big 'E', Nate and LA crushing opponents.

5. Watching JDSmith's 'nostalgia' and 'POY' video.
A tribute to a championship player and leader -- Darren Woodson -- a true Dallas Cowboy

Roger Staubach's amazing comeback win against the Redskins in the 1979 finale.

Every time I watch that on my DVD I get the exact same emotions as 26 years ago.

6) Seeing Tony Dorsett and Hershel Walker in the same backfield.
5) Hershel Walker terrorizing the Eagles for an 84 yard run, and I think he had an 84 yard catch too.
4) Aikman (in his rookie year) getting knocked unconcious while throwing a TD bomb to James Dixon to put the cowboys up. Then Everson Walls, playing prevent, got beat the next series and the Cowboys lost that game.
3) Of course, Emmitt vs the giants where he seperated his shoulder
2) Irvin doing the first down hand signal against the Eagles in one of the playoff games that lead to the first superbowl in the 90s.
1) DRAFT DAYS!!! Having high hopes for picks like:
-Mike Sherrod (broke leg once, still had confidence in him to return strong, then broke it again jogging on the beach, lost all confidence in him),
-Danny Noonan (saw videos of him in college throwing O linemen around, I was so excited, steriods does wonderful things)
-Marshall Irvin as the commissioner pronounced it. He had a good career in Dallas
-Aikman. I was high on Barry Sanders. Also Tony Manderich, my bad

All 3 Super Bowl titles in the 90's
1992 NFC Championship game versus San Franciso at Candle Stick Park
Ike Holt laying out an Eagle on K-Mart's punt return for a TD in Philthydelphia
"The Rocket" clinching that game in OT against the Deadskins
Tom Landry being inducted into The Ring Of Honor

My favorite channel.

The one that sticks in my mind was the goal line hit by Ken Norton on Kenneth Davis in Superbowl XXVII.

The H. Walker trade.

I would like about 5 more of them over the next 10 years, please.

IMO without this particular trade Dallas would have been in JJ hands for maybe 5 years after he bought the team. 0-16, 1-15, 2-14, 1-15, 3-13, welcome to the new NO Saints!
