Dan Patrick of ESPN about to speculate ...
... About to speculate on whether the 'Boys will take a BIG WR in the draft. Should be interesting.
Bill says he might trade both 1st round picks this year to gain extra 1st rounders in 2006. Also, Ed Werder says the Cowboys reeeeally like Mike Williams.
Keyshawn missed 2 days of workout last week. Parcells called him and asked what the deal was, Keyshawn is said to be UPSET about his contract situation. This prompted the question from Dan Patrick to Ed Werder, "Knowing the Cowboys really like Mike Williams, could they possibly package draft picks to move up to take Mike?"
Let the speculation begin!

Dan Patrick is a joke, dude doesn't know squat about sports, baseball and football.
So sorry to sound skeptical, but I don't buy this.

Note that Ed Werder was doing the reporting, Dan was just asking questions about the situation in Dallas. Big difference.

If true, why is Keyshawn comlaining about his contract? Didn't he say BEFORE last season he was an 80 catch, 1,000 yard, 10 TD guy? He came fairly close to those numbers for us in 2004 so what's the problem???

None of this makes sense and I wouldn't be surprise that it is pure conjecture.

I dunno. But Werder said that Bill and Key spoke on the phone. And that Key was definitely upset about his contract. I dunno. Doesn't sound good. Let's hope that it's just a rumor of sorts.
I'm sure it will come out very soon whether Key is having problems with his existing contract.

That is what sounds fishy about the whole thing...Key is not 100% healthy and he is haggling about a contract, ?

This reads as if YOU have more football knowledge than Dan.

I kind of doubt that, considering your paper route and all.

Let's hope it isn't a big deal. Maybe if Keyshawn had a season like T.O. or Torry Holt, he'd actually have a point.

Smoke screen, smoke screen, smoke screen.
I wouldn't put it past Parcells to tell Keyshawn, who has no problems talking with the media, to spread a rumor about his dissatisfaction so someone can trade up to take Mike Williams leaving Dallas to pick the player it wants all along.
Draft day rumors, gotta love 'em.

Things like this IF TRUE are why I didn't laugh about the TO/ Philly situation. Sooner or later Keyshawn will have a meltdown and I don't care who the coach is.
You can't spell bias without BS.

Umm... isn't there another very recent thread about how Keyshawn is OVERPAID... wasn't his number like 5-6 million? That seems like more than enough to me at his age.
But, even though i like Key.... is this really surprising if true? I mean he IS prone to believeing his own hype a little too much. he's been a good soilder so far, but if he decides to go abck to his petty and pouty ways we shouldn't be TOTALLY surprised i guess.
That being said... i wouldn't underrate the rumor here.
the top 4 teams ALL want to trade down badly due to the quesionable options.
I must say... everyone says this draft is devoid of superstars. i disagree... Braylon and Mike have superstar potential for sure. So does Heath Miller, Antrell Rolle, and Derrick Johnson (though they are a step behind Williams and Edwards for sure) There are also a bunch of sleeper picks that could be big stars like Jones and Merriman.
Now... as for trading up... If you are going for a top WR.. this is the year to do it... you won't ever be able to trade up as easily as this year i would think... 4 top teams that don't love their spots? not oftent hat happens...
I wouldn't sell out my future the way the Giants did... but a 1st (11), 5th and 2nd or 3rd next year could realistically get this done.
Personally I would NOT trade both 1st rounders though. I am content to sit on them if Mark Clayton is available at #20. I really like him... I've seen him compared to Lee Evans (only SLIGHTLY slower), whom i think is gonna be a star.
I do believe the right deal to snag either of those 2 WR's is something I would strongly consider though.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."
