A Konz kind of mock
Dallas trades down to the mid 20's, picks up a 2nd in 2012, and a 2nd in 2013
1st round: Peter Konz, OC, Wisconsin
Steps in immediately as the starting center and serves as the foundation of the OL for many years.
2nd round (2a): Cody Fleener, TE, Stanford
May not be available here but he would be huge for our offense.
2nd round (2b): Shea McClellin, OLB, Boise State
Possibly the best strong side LB in the draft. A smart, versatile player who can fill in for Spencer in 2013. Can cover and support the run as well.
3rd round: Billy Winn, DE, Boise State
Two Boise State players in a row; a prototypical 5 tech.
4th round (4a): Leonard Johnson, CB Oklahoma
4th round (4b, compensatory): Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma
5th round: Emmanuel Acho, LB, Texas
6th round: Ronald Leary, OG, Memphis
7th round: Nicholas Jean-Baptiste, NT, Baylor

Pretty good effort.
Not sure about a guard in the 6th and a NT in the 7th.
I'd rather see another corner and a safety.

Fleenor won't be there so I would go for the best CB or DL on the board.
I thought Johnson played for Iowa State.

That's my mistake. Should say Iowa State!

like the trade back and getting Konz, but much rather see Zeitler and Reyes in the 2nd. Then a CB like Fleming/Bentley/Boykin in the 3rd.

Whats the deal with Konz? A lotta love for this guy latley . I mean he has a horrible combine , leaves early , reports are he had to go the the hospital for injuries but nothing confirmed. You hear that he has some sort of blood clot disorder , Burm says he's going to die hos says he won't .
Serious question is he really an elite center? or because many of us feel center is such a massive need we are convincing ourselves he is?

If Callahan liked what he saw with the private workout, I'm all in for Konz. He would immediately become the starting center and we would basically know instantly what the OL would look like in 2012.
Tyron Smith, Nate Livings, Peter Konz, Mackenzie Bernadeau, Doug Free

If you look at most publication and NFL prognosticators views Konz is their highest rated center expected to fall in the late 1st rd
So I don't think Cowboy fans rating him high because of a need has anything to do with it.

You have no idea if Fleener will be there or not.
He may go late 1, early 2nd or make it to us at 45, it's unknown.
