After watching JD's latest video...
Im gonna show my stupidity here. But have we ever had a 2000 yrd rusher? If not I think we have one in JJ. I know its early but watching that video we did not have the best blocking on the O-Line. Most of the yardage he got was all him. Can you immagine what he will do if our line can make some holes for him?

I have to say that with the improved O-line, he will be the sickness.
But don't forget to factor in the other variables which will only add to his production.
1. The return of the supreme blocking machine,TE Dan Campbell.
2. A QB who is a threat to throw it deep. (Bledsoe)
3. The return of a healthy Glenn as a downfield threat.
4. The probable addition of a speedy WR via the draft.
5. Possibly the addition of a better bocking FB.
6. The increased respect that Witten will demand in coverage after his Pro Bowl season.
7. Julius's gained experience from last year.
8. The addition of a legitimate backup to spell JJ for breathers.
and the list goes on...

No we havent had a 2k yard rusher there have only been 4 in this history of the NFL, Jamal Lewis / OJ / Eric Dickerson / Terrell Davis
I honestly believe if anyone in the league has a shot at 2k+ yards its JJ and LT should be fun to watch this season.

Wow. Just ... wow.
C'mon guys. JJ only played 8 games. It's a bit early to be calling him a potential 2K runner.

Did Barry not get 2K? I thought he did.

You are correct in that there are 4 RBs to hit 2,000 yards, but you forgot to mention the fourth RB - Barry Sanders.
For that, I'm going to have to dock you points, but you did show your work.
By the way, it's way to early to speculate on Julius Jones. Let's get 1,300 yards first.
A tribute to a championship player and leader -- Darren Woodson -- a true Dallas Cowboy

After watching the video I think it would be great if the Cowboys used one of their first rounders on Jammal Brown. As a RT he would come in and solidify the O-line. Adams, Allen, Johnson, Rivera and Brown...ya never know how a rookie will do but it sounds like the foundation for a good offense. JJ might run wild behind that line. Replace Brown with Vollers or Tucker and you can see where the weak link is.
I don't know much about Alex Barron. I haven't watched Florida State much this year but from the write ups he seems like a talented guy but kind of lazy.
Is there a second round RT that the Cowboys could target?

Way too early, lets just work on his first 1000 yards season first.

I understand its early. My point was that most of the yardage he got was all him. Making guys miss. I did not see to many HUGE holes for him to run through. He made his yards. I would like to see what he could do if he could hit the secondary at full speed instead of having to make 2-3 guys miss before getting there.

I think anyone of us would be happy with 1500 and 12-14TD's, which is more realistic.

I agree even though its not a flashy pick in the draft. OL is where the Boys should focus on and its a lot cheaper then having to keep paying for OL in FA. Lets hope that JJ and Parcells are thinking the same thing. Julius' career depends on blocking and what better what to increase the longevity of his career? And of course, the given of given the QB, whoever it may be, time to develop (Henson) and time to throw the ball (Bledsoe).

2,000 is a pretty lofty goal. I think JJ has the potential to be the premier RB in the NFL. Even the best consider 2,000 as a supreme achievement and getting 1,500 a season is hardly being a slouch.
Baby steps, guys, baby steps.
