Fredd's Mock 2.0
Everyone else is throwing their mock out there so here is mine - I completed a full 7-round mock for all teams and I tried not to homerize anything...here is who I had the Cowboys selecting:
1st: Coples, Quinton (DE, N.Carolina)
2nd: Silatolu, Amini (OG, Midwestern St)
3rd: Johnson, Trumaine (CB, Montana)
4th: Green, Ladarius (TE, La-Lafayette)
4th (supp): Brewster, Mike (C, Ohio St)
5th: Harris, Cliff (CB, Oregon)
6th: Benford, Tim (WR, Tenn Tech)
7th: Smith, Jacquies (DE, Missouri)
Addressed pass rush, Interior of the OLine, Secondary, back-up TE...thoughts?

Honestly, I'm just not comfortable with Coples. I would look for Ingram before I would Coples.
If Ingram or DeCastro weren't there at #14, I might be willing to trade back a few spots only to be able to trade back up from the 3rd to get two second round picks. Then try to grab say, a CB/Safety in the first and Brandon Brooks and Bruce Irvin in the second.
Formerly the notorious nyc!
I've got more red flags than Soviet Russia!
There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.
If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.
Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

I'd be fine with this one except I'd like a safety at some point if we can get a good one.

There in lies your problem. This is a nery bad draft for safeties. There is Barron then pretty much everyone else.
"Can we get Drew Bledsoe back out here just for a week, so you guys can fall back in love with Tony? Let's sign Drew Bledsoe back for a week. Because sometimes when you have a pretty girl for so long, you forget how pretty she is. But when you put an ugly girl next to her, 'Oh, no, I'm really doing well.' And maybe we need to bring Drew back, so we can back to 'Oh, no, we're really doing well.'"

Have to assume he thinks Brewster can start as a rookie--which may be true.

Trumaine Johnson would play safety.

That's right, I forgot that he's physical enough to cross over.
That helps.

I have seen Coples play--we do not want him. Takes too many plays off. Lazy and hard to motivate. Smallish for a 3-4 DE.

The good news is that anyone we draft in the first round will have had every single collegiate play dissected to the 20th degree. They will have asked anyone and everyone about the obvious issues/rumors about that player. So they will certainly know better than any of us on how much of a risk a player is worth.

I like the players individually but I'm not sure I'd feel great about walking out of the 4th round and 3 players came from Midwestern, Montana, & LaLa. Each player is worth the risk on their own but the risk kind of accumulates with each small school pick.

I actually really like this mock. Coples is a risk, but I have him as one of the best players in this draft. I love Silatolu as well. Not in love with the Trumaine pick...he has the size and measurables I'm just not sold on him. I agree that Harris is trouble, but I think the risk/reward factor is great enough in the fifth to take him. We need another corner, and I think we have solid character guys in the secondary already. Good mock IMO.

Depending on the mock, those first two will be off the board by the time the Cowboys draft. Silatolu has been rising recently.

No Irvin but love the first 2 picks. And Harris at the bottom of the 2nd day also works for me.
