Default PFT: Cowboys trying to hide interest in Poe

SI.com draft analyst Tony Pauline wrote on his blog Monday that the Cowboys are targeting Memphis defensive tackle Dontari Poe at the No. 14 pick in the draft, and Poe is the “apple of their eyes.”
But the Cowboys haven’t scheduled a club-facility visit with Poe, which doesn’t align with their usual pre-draft approach for prospects they’re targeting. Every player Dallas has picked first in the draft since 2005 has visited club headquarters before draft day. They’re usually an open book.

Or we really don't have that much interest in him.

I'd love to know how many teams DON'T draft players they invited to their facility. I mean, which team invites a bunch of kids to interview them, and DON'T draft a SINGLE one of them.
"Can we get Drew Bledsoe back out here just for a week, so you guys can fall back in love with Tony? Let's sign Drew Bledsoe back for a week. Because sometimes when you have a pretty girl for so long, you forget how pretty she is. But when you put an ugly girl next to her, 'Oh, no, I'm really doing well.' And maybe we need to bring Drew back, so we can back to 'Oh, no, we're really doing well.'"

Are you calling Tony Pauline a liar?? I mean, he did say we would go after Carr, and that was news breaking, right......right?

I think its fair to call just about everyone a liar at some point during the early draft process.

Lots of misinformation being handed out.

Sweet, maybe Dallas can develop him fast enough to get a season out him before he hits the market as a free agent.

Yeah, Dallas is intent on hiding their interest for Poe. So much so that Jerry spent half an interview saying how much he liked Poe.

Sly Jerry! He said he was interested so people would think it was a smokescreen and he really wasn't interested. Then again, since he didn't invite Poe for the interview could be because that is the smokescreen and he really is interested. Unless, of course he isn't interested and drops these tidbits making people think he is interested and the reason he isn't inviting him is to hide his interest.

Then again he could be......................? Sly Jerry! He is probably as confused now as the people he is trying to confuse. Understand? lol

Never go in against a Sicilian when the draft is on the line.

I'm holding out hope that it's a smokescreen to hide their true interest in DeCastro, the guy whose on-field production actually matches his talent.

The bit about the Cowboys liking him come from Calvin Watkins, who immediately after the quote said to "take it with a grain of salt" because this is the misinformation season and the Cowboys have generally interviewed their guys. I still like Poe (although it has been tempered of late given the near uniformity of concerns by guys like Mayock) but I don't think Dallas is interested in taking Poe at 14.
The truth almost always lies somewhere in between...

Except on CZ.
