Matt Jones, guys Cowboys need to draft him in 2nd round before Chicago
Guys, more and more i read about Matt Jones, we need to be sure the Dallas Cowboys draft him in 2nd round before Chicago Bears. Remember the safety that the Bears drafted in 1st round that moved up boards, Brian Ulchacher, the Bears have indicated that if he is there by 2nd round before us, they will draft him, Matt Jones will be the NFL playmaker next 10 years on offense like Ulchacher was to defense. Sure, you taking a chance, but Ulchacher just played safety in college, and at that he was from a small college. Jones, i guarantee, (if no serious injury in pros) will make Randy Moss look phathetic, 6-6, 242, 4.37 in 40, 39 inch vertical leap, can play QB in emergency or at goal line with ability to run it in, he even get this guys snaps on field goals, covers great downfield, HE CAN OUTMUSCLE ANY DB, (REMEMBER HOW WHEN RANDY CAME OUT FIRST YEAR, AND HE WOULD OUT JUMP DBS DEEP DOWNFIELD) you can put him in slot, till he learns, use packages on offense, let him run reverses, use height in red zone to over match CB's in red zone, GUYS WE GOT TO GET DALLAS COWBOYS TO DRAFT HIM IN 2ND ROUND BEFORE CHICAGO BEARS IF NO ONE DRAFTS HIM IN 1ST ROUND.

What team announces that they will draft a player if he's there in any round (and actually means it)?
"Listen other GMs - if you want a certain player, be sure to trade up one spot ahead of us to get him. Thanks!"

the guy is a total flier, and while i would indeed be happy to hear we took him at 42, i would feel no regrets to hear that another team took him at 37. we don't have a gaping hole at WR, and getting a guy like jones into the system for a year while proving out Morgan, Crayton and Glenn might pay off bigtime in the future. i can't see him going before we pick at 42, and i don't think we'd take him there either, but i wouldn't cry a river if we did...

I think he goes to Atlanta at 27
I had an apartment and I had a neighbor, and whenever he would knock on my wall I knew he wanted me to turn my music down and that made me angry 'cause I like loud music... so when he knocked on the wall, I'd mess with his head. I'd say, "Go around! I cannot open the wall! I dunno if you have a doorknob on your side but over here there's nothin'. It's just flat."

No!
I haven't commented on Matt for a while, but I'm here to tell you with a bit of first hand knowledge that it would be a mistake for any team to draft Matt Jones in the first two rounds. I will be greatly dissapointed if we picked him with our second round pick. I seriously doubt he will ever be a productive NFL player. I'm acquainted with Matt, know quite a lot about him, loved him as the QB/Playmaker for the Hogs, but I seriously doubt how he will turn out as an NFL player.

Can you be more specific?
I heard that he has a "high maintenance" reputation. Anything to that?

we have too many other needs and we almost have to get 3 starters from this draft, which IMO eliminates rolling the dice on a QB convert. I won't be upset with drafting him, but we sure as heck better get a starting DE, FS, and LB ALSO from this draft.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore

I don't know about "high maintenance". Matt is a high character guy, as far as the kind of person he is. But it would be hard to describe him as a guy who "loves the game of football". You might describe him like this: Do you remember the guy who was awesome for your High School football team - by far the most talented - but didn't have the "want to" to do the hard work to make it at the college level? Well, Matt Jones was that guy - but he was so stinking talented that he could get by on talent in the SEC! I'm not calling the guy a slouch, but I seriously question the "want to" to do the work it would take to learn a new, more physically demanding position at the next level.

So far this guy looks good on paper and the media is all over, they can afford, THE MEDIA DOESNT DRAFT. Who here can garuntee me this kid is going to be all you can say. Can anyone give me a definte answer that hes going to be that 10 year player, that we better jump ahead to get him. IN the second round? Dallas is not jumping ahead to get anyone in the first, do you honestly think they are jumping ahead in the second?
stop reading from here on til draft day. everyone looks great on paper. they are all that right now. its on the field is where it counts and matt jones is a transistion player. hes either going to be the diamond in the rough or medicore for his pick but i dont see dallas jumping for anyone especially this guy, and people the other guy says anything not for Heath Miller either.

Ya great idea except we dont really have the time to waste on a guy is more than likely not going to do anything at all productive in his first year. And what is to say that he will do anything at all at WR? Their is no proof he can play that position at all. Big deal if he is 6' 6" and runs a low 4.4 that doesnt mean he can catch or run good routes does it? We have way too many holes in the D and offensive line to waste a pick on this guy....I would say that Philly will more than likely take him. I mean why the heck not they got what 14 picks in this draft anyways.

No, no, no, no, no, a thousand times no. Haven't this team learned enough about taking projects. We need bonafide playmakers in those first three picks. We do not need to take a workout wonder who has the surfer mentality of a pothead. This team needs to quit reaching for players and just pick players.
