Default CN: Draft Rumors Go From Simmer to Low Boil

Barron in demand
Lots of opinions in the late afternoon on possible Cowboys' targets, with the New England Patriots figuring heavily in the discussion.

Patriots beat writer Tom Curran says in this clip that the Patriots would consider moving up to acquire Alabama safety Mark Barron, and would have to leapfrog the Cowboys to ensure they get him.

That's possible, but if they want Barron, getting to pick 13 may not be high enough. The Seahawks also might consider Barron at 12.

Hottest name in the draft right now with McClellin

If the hoodie likes Brockers, makes me feel a little better bout him.

Cowboys should swoop in and take Coples in that scenario. A double digit sack DE is much more valuable than a good S.

DeCastro would almost have to be the pick at that point, unless our war room is full of idiots.
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"

2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"

If Barron goes before Dallas picks then it means another player falls. Could end up being DeCastro and I would be totally fine with that.

I think DeCastro will be at #14 regardless. I think if he is there, they try and move back. If they can't then he would be the pick.

1st option: Cox
2nd option: barron
3rd option: trade back
4th option: DeCastro

I seem to remember he also really liked Jason Hatcher...

I believe so, and they would play him at Center.

Do the Cowboys think he can play center in the NFL. I know coming out of high school he was the 3rd ranked center, with that, why did he not play center at Stanford?

Don't know much about their program. Do they have a stud center?

Cox
Barron
DeCastro as center

unless some one falls they didn't expect to be there
Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a great ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair....Bertrand Russell

Most likely they had a scholarship Junior or Senior there when he arrived and needed a RG.

I assume you are pointing towards Coples, and Ingram.
There's no right way to do the wrong thing.

To compete for the playoffs, Dallas has to improve here: Only four sacks against Eli Manning over the past six games!

Gotcha. I would hope that the homework has been done. Would hate to draft someone at 14 and have them switch positions and find out it doesn't work.

On the other hand, he would just move over to guard and compete with the other 4 we already have.
