Barron, IMO, is a blue chip player. Him and DeCastro. Barron will have an impact that is felt more though.

That's especially true if we have 3-4 guys rated about equally (which may actually be the case from what I can gather).

I wouldn't mind seeing that trade either, for an extra 3rd. The Chargers have the 15th pick in the 3rd Round (worth 195 pts.). The Cowboys have the 18th pick in the 3rd, so it's even an improvement over where we're currently sitting.
200 pt. difference between our R1 14th pick and their 18th pick. Fair trade range, on the face of it. Maybe get SD's 19th pick in R7 (worth 7 pts.) too. Not to be greedy, but if they're the ones that want to move up, why should we come up short on trade value points?

I hate the idea of trading down and will be pissed if they do. But, if they snag the extra 7th rounder it will stop me from using a few curse words and punching or kicking an object once or twice. They should ask for more than is expected from some point chart.

I don't want to give up our third to get Barron. We've got other needs and that is a value pick.
I don't like the trade down because I doubt Brockers or DeCastro make it past Philly and Cincy. I think a trade down gets us Poe.
Just pick your player, Jerry.

be careful what you wish for
moving down to 18 could mean we miss barron, cox, decastro and brockers
i'd hate to be sat there and have to take an OLB

Think about this for a minute, would the Cowboys want the whole world to know they have talked to KC about a trade unless they want everyone to know.
Bottom line is, they probably talked to everyone between 13 and 5 to gauge a price, maybe a few of those conversations were serious. I doubt it Dallas wanted to get strategic to get their guy the would run and tell Ed Werder of all people.
Ed could of came on a listed the draft order 5-13 and said we discussed a trade up with them and everyone 15-32 for a trade down because he would still be pretty close to right.
There are 3 dozen phones being blown up around the league today and for the next 3 days. Ed is the only one who has come up with names?!?!?

We'll find out tomorrow how much truth there is to it. I believe in smokescreens, but we pretty much telegraphed the Tyron Smith pick last year, so who knows.

Every GM is burning up phone lines right now. This is nothing new and won't be anything new tomorrow either.
Think of the draft as one of the world's most expensive poker games.

No reason NOT to ask for an additional 5th or 6th Round pick ... 7th being the worst tag-on to a 1st and 3rd Rounder offer.
Guess it'll all depend on whether the Cowboys think there will be value for them at #18, in the first place. But again, if SD calls, they should pay us trade value PLUS. If they are the ones wanting to move up, they should pay a bit of a premium to do it.

It just amazes me, I'm sitting her watching Jason La....what ever his name is, just got done watching Adam and Mort all discuss trade options and not a single one of them could name any teams that talked, all they could do is speculate and sort of pinpoint teams who want to trade up and down.
Then we have Ed who can pinpoint the team up and down Dallas will trade with.

I like it, other than if it looks like we can get David DeCastro at 14 ... unless our War Room is 99% sure he'll still be an option for us at 18 then, the way I'm feeling about things right now, I would be for standing pat and turning in the card for DeCastro at #14.
