ESPN Rumor Central... Sharper and Cowboys???
Apr. 11 - Jamie Sharper's visit to Seattle went well, and contract talks are expected to heat up today, reports ESPN.com's John Clayton. The Bengals, Cowboys and possibly the Ravens are also pushing for the former Texans linebacker, who was released in a salary-cap move. Sharper is hoping to get $3.5 million a year in a deal. His consistent ability to make over 100 tackles a season makes him one of the best options on the market.
I think including the Boys was a mistake.... think they meant Seahawks....
anyway, he's going to the Bengals i think.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

THE SKINNY
Chad Brown
Seahawks ? Apr. 11 - Linebacker Chad Brown's career in Seattle appears to be coming to an end, reports ESPN.com's John Clayton. Brown is scheduled to make $4.1 million in '05. The Seahawks want to cut him to $1 million; Brown is willing to go to $2 million. The Seahawks don't seem to be budging on their low demand and it looks as though Brown could join Anthony Simmons on the street. Starting middle linebacker Orlando Huff left in free agency for Arizona.
Brown is considered the best Seattle free-agent signing ever. He agreed to a six-year, $24 million deal in 1997 and stayed for eight seasons.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

I don't see him signing with us for that much money per year.
He'll probably reunite with Marvin Lewis in Cinncinatti.

Based on what I read in a Seattle paper, I believe. Bengals aren't offering what he had hoped, so he's prolly not going there. Paper said Seahawks greeted him with Sharper screaming from the jumbotron and gave him the first class treatment. Needless to say they went all out for him. Ravens, I've read, aren't interested and haven't heard a peep about the 'boys being interested, even tho I would luv for him to suit up for us.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

Ravens signed OLB Tommy Polly today.

I'm surprised
I am very surprised that we didn't have a contract already written and waiting for him to sign as soon as he was released by the Texans. He is exactly what we need at LB and would fit either the 3-4 or 4-3 very well. He has played both systems and has played both ILB and OLB (was more effective as an OLB IMO).
What the heck are we waiting for anyway?

That would be great. Two LBs making 100+ tackles a year.
Why would anyone want t o go to the Bengals or Browns??? You are guaranteed a crap stained career with a little money thrown in.

I don't think they accidentally threw the Cowboys' name in there. They identified them as one of the teams possibly "also" interested along with Seattle.
Personally, I'd love the guy here. I posted as much several weeks ago when the rumors of him being trade bait circulated.

Exactly. If we're considering a move to the 3-4, signing Sharper seems like a no-brainer.
Can't he even play outside and possibly take Singleton's spot in a 4-3 defense? Is that where he played with the Ravens?
Guy's up there in age but is a legitimate player.

I don't think we're going to the 3-4. Every move we've made benefits the 4-3 more.
