We'd be closer to winning if we had the trenches but lacked the skill position players (QB being the exception) then we are in our situation which is the opposite.
I think the reason most people are talking about these positions now is cause we've been either neglecting them or terrible at drafting for them and we're a bad team because of it

I've long believed we should be focuing on OL and the front 7, and I don't think we're on the cusp. ~shrug~ More like the Cowboys finally exhibiting the tiniest hint of common sense. No matter how the draft falls out the next few days, the Cowboys are still likely no better than the 3rd best team in the NFCE.
Maybe its just more of a signal that Jones has a grown up in the draft room with him in Garrett, the way he did when Parcells was there.

There is a natural balance there. We've taken Felix, Jenkins, and Dez lately. If we'd taken all interior guys instead, we'd need outside playmakers now. It's a myth that you just draft all up front and immediately win in today's NFL.

I'm sure no one is shocked by your OP. You've been claiming we're on the cusp for years.

I like the TE out of Clemson. Not sure if he can block but the guy looks like Gates at times in the passing game.

NE spent a ton of draft picks over a period of 10 years to get it to work. Belichick started experimenting with it in the 70s.
How many picks has Dallas wasted trying to get it to work?
I think it is one of those things that sounds great on paper, but never works all that well in execution.

Yea, I think the Boyz finally realized that it really doesnt matter how many studs you have at the skill postions if you cant block anybody.
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"
2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"

I don't really agree with that.
Games are won or lost in the trenches. We are weakest in those trenches. So I don't know how that means we're on the cusp simply because we're not coveting backs and receivers.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

There's a reason why when the season approached black 'n blue December, the team started falling out in the 4th quarters. And I'd give a silver dollar to the kittie if we knew what Callahan really thought about Costa.
There's no right way to do the wrong thing.
To compete for the playoffs, Dallas has to improve here: Only four sacks against Eli Manning over the past six games!

........just one more clueless, flash and dash pick by Jerrah: trenches still are the weakest in the division: we'll be looking up to the gspots and philly no doubt. Jerrah knows how to sell tix and that's IT: he can't draft for crap and build a football team: he just proved it again.
