Was asked to play OLB in a 3-4, but is clearly not a successful conversion prospect... Ran a disappointing 4.86-40 at the combine... Very stiff hips; turn and run/coverage skills are poor to the point that he struggles greatly even in drills (see combine footage)... Has no business being a coverage linebacker in the NFL... Not an elite production player, coaches will need to rely on Wilber creating opportunities for other players... Needs to develop more as a defensive line player; plays too high and needs to develop a stronger and more consistent punch against blockers... Will need to learn to set and hold the point to create lanes for other pass rushers

ugh

He reminds me of... Anthony Spencer. Of course he's going to be for depth though.

From PFW:

Positives:
Very good athlete. Solid run defender — can play off blocks and string plays down to the sideline. Crashes the line and has surprising strength to set the edge. Solid technician — keeps his outside arm free. Good take-off speed. Can outquick blockers to the point and split the double team. Has lined up on both sides and is athletic enough to fall back into coverage and man short areas. Productive starter with scheme diversity.

Negatives:
Has a linear, underdeveloped body and can stand to improve his strength levels and explosion. Tends to play a bit too upright and has some stiffness in his body. Not a glass-eater and lacks bull, anchor strength. Struggles with double teams. Not an elite athlete. Not comfortable moving in reverse.

High motor, versatile, fair amount of production, good size for SOLB at 6'4 250 but will need to throw on about 10 lbs. of muscle and continue refining his game.

My guess... Blake would've been the pick. But this guy will provide quality depth, nice ST ability, and will compete with Victor Butler to be the #3 OLB to come on the field on 3rd down. And best case is he shows enough to let Spencer test the FA waters, thus saving us a lot of money by hitting on a 4th round pick.

Not overjoyed, but it does makes sense.

From what the guys on the ticket are saying when we hear this kids story we are going to be so impressed with him that we will be rooting for him from day one.

20 Yrd Dash: 2.65

Broad Jump: 10'00"

He seems to be pretty quick and have 4.64 speed (which is nice) but his 3 cone 7.83 but his 3 cone at the combine was 7.11.... I love his motor and that he played OLB in 3-4 already so he will be ahead on the learning curve. Might be a poor mans ryan kerrigan.
