Starting talent was not a problem ? Really ? Oline couldnt protect, Dline couldnt pressure QB's, linebackers were old and couldn't cover, safeties were average, and Newman was done. Besides those positions, talent was never a problem.

Until he and they prove otherwise, that's who the Cowboys are.
Well, "they" aren't going to achieve greatness without "he," and "he" isn't going to do it without "they," so why don't we just settle on "them" and call it a team.

Well, considering we finished 3rd, that means we start in 3rd.

We finished 3rd but we start the season 0-0 just like everyone else. I like to keep a positive outlook.

Yikes,,, I think "starting talent" is taking credit for an extremely weak early schedule while "depth" is taking the blame for the higher class of opponents in December. We didn't have many players out or playing injured (except Newman and Jenkins, and you going into the season knowing they will be playing that way).

It's not even a positive outlook, its the way it works.

No one is in the playoffs because they were in it the year before.

It's a completely new year.
In the final two months of 2011, Romo’s passer rating was 115.9.

I agree and think the prediction is ridiculous, but I was trying to throw the "realists" a bone.

There are 2 things the media takes for granted every year:

1. The Cowboys are one of the most talented teams in the NFL
2. The Eagles are one of the best teams in the NFL who just had a down year last year.

I don't really buy either one of them. I think the Cowboys have talent, but no more than their record indicates, just as I think the Eagles have their own issues to deal with and they will only go as far as Vick can take them. Both teams can be summed up with a classic Parcells quote:

"You are what you are"

Throw a blanket over all NFC East teams for this coming year because anything can happen. I'll include the Redskins in that.

Agreed.. However the problem I have is the constant blame on Romo and Ware. Someone needs to hold the offensive and defensive lines along with that horrible secondary responsible sometimes.
