We also heard a lot about Radaway last season before the injury. And Coale as well prior to breaking his foot.
Cowboys have options at the WR spot for sure. Maybe not breakout stars this season but we don't need them to be so for a few years yet.
Beasly and Benford are also opening up some eyes. Nice to know there are other players in the pipeline as well.

I just don't trust him. I'm worried if he wins the job, he'll feel that entitlement again.
I don't believe in him to go get the hard catch in crunch time. The ball has to be exactly on his numbers in order for him to make the catch or he won't go and get it. He's not going to sacrifice the body to make the play.

With guys like Holmes emerging, Ogletree better watch out because he may not make this team.

I'm not concerned about our receivers after Dez, Miles, and Witten. I think we will have at least two good players come out of this young group, and maybe three.

For him to be in the lead coming out of OTAs is going to spell good things for him in Training Camp. He can only increase his lead against guys like Ogletree, and I think of all the people he is probably the most physically talented.
If this is the case I think Otree is done.
In the final two months of 2011, Romo’s passer rating was 115.9.

The only reason people are flocking to every receiver not named Ogletree is because people already feel they know what Ogletree can bring to the table. I'm of the belief that if Ogletree makes this team he's a superior player to what he was last year and I believe he will make this team.

I think we were going to keep both. Ogletree was the No. 3 receiver when camp ended and the final roster cuts were made. Then Dallas got Robinson, cut Robinson because he was injured and re-signed him because of injuries at the position.

What Ogletree can bring to the table is great speed with sharp cutting/route running ability and body control and good hands.
What he has brought to the table is a lack of mental focus that has led to poor/wrong routes and drops.
If he's truly got his mental focus where it needs to be, he's one of the most promising receivers on the roster. But that's a big if.

Bottom line is Ogletree needs to win the #3 role or he doesn't make the team. And just OTAs he's already behind the eight ball with Andre Holmes outperforming him. If Holmes does beat him out then he really doesn't have a role with the Cowboys and there are too many young WRs with potential to keep him over them. Coale, Harris, Radway, Beasley, Benford and Hakim.

When things get physical we'll find out who is for real. I think we have a nice group of young guys but.....
it's the press coverage that is so shocking to these young guys.
Except for a handful of rookies, most of these guys have never faced an NFL level DB giving them press coverage. It's a massive eye-opener and can make or break them.
Certainly Holmes has never seen it before coming from Hillsdale. But the coaches seem to be confident that his size and athleticism will see him though.
I know Harris is getting more seperation this year after having more offseason coaching and getting into NFL shape.
But OTAs won't fully tell the story, as we know.

Maybe in a few years when Austin hits 30...but it's the same thing as at corner. Depth is good, there's no need to get rid of good players just because there is another one on the roster.

Holmes saw it last year in Vikings camp and preseason.

I disagree.
Go look at the catch he made in the last two minutes of the first Washington game. That was a clutch catch and was thrown way behind him.
He also made a fair number of his catches over the middle and under tigh coverage and also got popped on a couple of them and still held onto the ball.
I agree that he may not be good enough to the #3 WR for us but I don't agree with your other statements about him. I do agree with giving him a chance at TC to win the job because he has all the tangibles and knows the offense but I don't know if he can put it all together. The same things were said of Miles Austin at this stage, too. Miles didn't really breakthrough until a third of the way through his fourth season.
I personally favor Coale, Holmes and Benford with Radway, Beasley and Hakim on the PS but it'll be a very interesting battle.

All of those guys ahead of Harris?
Other than Radway with the couple of catches in preseason last year, have ever seen any of these guys play?
