The lesser evil? Picking a Veteran WR3...
OK, a thought occurred to me, given the numerous threads circulating about various veteran receivers still being available.
Hypothetically speaking (it's a slow news period!), if the Cowboys cannot develop a #3 receiver from their current group, who would you prefer they chose to fill the role?
For the record, I think one will emerge but we need something to talk/argue about.
(If a mod could create a poll for this, that would be great!)
a) Plaxico Burress
b) Mark Clayton
c) Patrick Crayton
d) Braylon Edwards
e) Terrell Owens
f) Mike Sims-Walker
g) Roy Williams
Or (h) feel free to pick your own

Can we wait and watch the Olympics then bring in the fastest track and field guy?
If I had to pick one from that list though, either Clayton or Walker.

With that list I'm praying we develop our own.
The real shame is we couldn't keep Robinson.
We tell the team we have to move on from success" JG Oh how they have done that.
I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

If we can't develop our own guy, I'd want the one who keeps his mouth shut the most.

I'll second that motion!
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"
"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."

Sims-Walker. I think his best years are ahead of him. Worth the gamble IMO.

Agreed. He just needs a solid QB to throw him the ball. I'd take a flyer on him as long as he was willing to be the 3 and keep his mouth shut.

This is cheating, but think I'd rather wait to see if some interesting vets start showing up on the waiver wire during training camp because they'll have been caught in a numbers game, like my dad says GB could cut Donald Driver because he's 37 and only 4th or 5th on GB's WR depth chart. Same deal with Donte Stallworth in NE.

I have too much respect for Danny Coale to participate in this thread.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Yeah routing for a youngun, Holmes or Benford.
If you had to pick a Vet, take a Return man, Mike Sims-Walker could help there.

Worst comes to worst is right. I'll assume that mean that NONE of out 6-7 young guys (or combo of) is worthy of the WR3 role...whcih I doubt is the case.
Anyway,
I see this team getting younger and growing for the future, I really hate the idea of bringing in retreads.
Having said that, I'd go with MSW if he's healthy. Robinson from last year has always reminded me a lot of MSW and he would not have the mental baggage or ego that some others would.
I'd prefer none of these guys though.
