“Romo’s a tremendous quarterback, statistically he’s a top five quarterback, that’s undeniable,” Canty said on ESPN’s SportsNation, via the Dallas Morning News. “At the end of the day, in the clutch situations, he hasn’t performed as well as you would like him to. I think ultimately, that’s been the difference between their franchise and the Giants ability to be successful.”

Canty said the Giants “absolutely” believe they can force Romo to make mistakes when the pressure is on.

“Obviously, when you put pressure on any quarterback you can cause mistakes,” Canty said. “I think Romo has been prone to make mistakes in the clutch situations and his team has not been able to be successful because of it.”.

He's really specifically comparing Romo in the clutch to Manning in the clutch, where he's got a good argument that Manning has been better when it's mattered.

I still scratch my head at anyone thinking our issues in the Romo era have been related to QB play.

We have our own gullible and faithless fans to blame for these false perceptions. As long as they entertain the stupidity as if it's legitimate. We're going to get a steady diet of these opinions.

I know, let's ignore the fact that our offensive line play has been poor over most of Romo's tenure here.

Gimme a break, this is a team game not an individual one. Yeah, Tony at times will make mistakes, but what QB doesn't. Tony isn't the problem here.

You don't see a lot of guys calling out other team's QB's in their own division but I actually like this chipiness between teams. Same with the Michael Vick birthday tweet and the Eagles response to that. I saw Demarcus on NFL Network last night and even he had a little edge to him.

All in all it shows a level of intensity even in the off season that just adds to the anticipation in the most compelling division in football.
