Yep, the way Dez is in camp I'd rather him not return punts.

Tim MacMahon@espn_macmahon

Dez catches a 95 mph Romo fastball with Carr in tight coverage on a slant.
---

Anyone else notice Romo seems to be throwing it much harder this offseason?

espn_macmahon Cole Beasley looked like a shortstop snaring a sinking line drive over the middle on his one-handed catch.

Calvin Watkins ‏@calvinwatkins Arkin working with romo on snaps. Arkin getting 1-team reps

Calvin Watkins ‏@calvinwatkins
Bad snap. I'm done.

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher
Didn't see Phil Costa get hurt but Arkin still getting first team center work

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Arkin in at first-team center now. Snap trouble again for Costa. Dockery at LG. Interior line may not be settled for a looooong time.

Bryan Broaddus ‏@BryanBroaddus

costa is either hurt or he got demoted in practice today. this is a clown circus.

Calvin Watkins ‏@calvinwatkins Not sure if Phil costa is hurt but he's holding his helmet watching. Hartland Gunn working with 2-team

Carlos A. Mendez ‏@calexmendez
Arkin sends a bullet of a shotgun snap to Romo's left, way left. Romo snags it with Mr. Miyagi-like reflex, pulls it down and makes a throw.

I understand your concern man, I really do. Especially given his injury history as a punt returner. The only thing is that guys can get hurt on any play in a game (or even in practice, as we've all noticed by now), so even of a certain type of play might have a slightly elevated risk of injury, its worth putting Dez put there because of what he can do for the team in the return game. He's an explosive punt returner, and you know that opposing teams will have fits trying to stop him in open space.

What's the point in having weapons if you don't use them? And Dez, as we've alL seen, is a dangerous weapon in the return game.

Garrett said costa had back injury that pulled him from practice. Cowboys don't think it's serious
"It's little bit like the description of pornography from years back. It's hard to define it. But you know what it is at the end of it. It's hard to define it. I think you know who is more physical. Often times you see that in the fourth quarter. A lot of time the team on the other side feels it. We pride ourselves on being a physical football team. It's important to us. It's an important time of the year to lay that foundation." - Coach Garrett

Are there really "Costa supporters" in the sense that people like him for reasons other than him being on the roster?

That many bad snaps during a camp can't be normal. How can you even defend that. I mean, can it? I honestly don't know so I'm looking for some insight. How many other centers chuck a few bad snaps during camp?

I just don't want this showing itself at a critical point during the season.

We have tried out basically everyone we have. Might as well see if JPL can handle long snapping and shot gun snapping.

(I say this in jest, but I won't be shocked at this point lol.) We have tried out: Costa,Kowalski(hurt),Nagy(hurt),Arkin,Gunn,McQuist an, and will give Bernadeau a look at some point. So we have used 6, going on 7.

I am almost tempted to see if bringing Kosier back is even an option, he has played Center before.
