IRVING – Bruce Carter isn’t sure if he’ll play in Wednesday’s preseason finale at Cowboys Stadium. The majority of starters won’t see the field during that final tune-up and Carter has a good shot at starting when the regular season begins Sept. 5 against the Giants.
Throughout training camp, the 2011 second-round pick has been competing against Dan Connor for the starting inside linebacker spot next to Sean Lee. While Carter has received more first team snaps, he hasn’t been named the starter.
“Dan’s a great guy and I’ve learned a lot from him,” Carter said Monday. “I think both of us are just here to compete and whoever gets the job, gets the job.”
