Fav fried chicken place
I don't like to start food threads, just participate in them, but.....just had some fried chicken that was the best I have ever eaten.
My all-time favorite was Popeyes, but I found a new place called Jollibees. It is here on the west coast, Vegas and NY only.
http://www.jollibeeusa.com/index.html
This chicken was the moistest, tastiest chicken I have had in my 42 years. When the breast falls off the bone, that says something. They even give you this brown gravy to dip it in, fantastic! The only drawback is no nuggets or strips, just whole pieces, but that is OK.
I used to drive out of my way to hit up a Popeye's but those days are gone, so now my new list of favorite fast food fried chicken is:
1. Jollibees (by a mile)
2. Popeyes-will only go here for the strips now
3. KFC
4. Church's
5. Hartz's-was a decent buffet when I was in college
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit.

I wish it was still my Mother's house.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

A long time ago there was a place called Kentucky Fried Chicken, best there ever was. It's gone now and they have some place called KFC that isn't anywhere near as good.

Actually, I've gotten really good at frying chicken now. I kinda like my own more than anywhere I could buy it. I haven't figured out how to make it spicy, yet, but it's still quite good.
Popeyes
Hartz is decent
Frenchy's (local to Houston)
Walmart

Uh Oh!
This place sells fried Spam Little Big Bites.

Soak chicken in buttermilk with an entire bottle of Texas Pete yada mixed in then flour or bread your usual way. I'm not certain why you need so much hot sauce for it to work. The other way is use cayenne or hot asian dried peppers finely minced in the breading or flour. Takes a lot less to get it hot this way. Let me know and I'll come over for a taste.
BTW, Popeyes does the hot stuff best.

Agreed, that is why I mentioned only fast food places. I'm sure most of us prefer mom's chicken to anyone.

I can't do that anymore which is incredibly sad at times.

I think I'll go the cayenne route. It sounds like the best way to go based on what I have in the house. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
And yes, you're right. I love popeye's spicy chicken. That's all I buy from there.

Put the spices on the chicken itself......if u mix it with the flour it takes way to much and u can burn the spices much easier.
If u use a wet batter then IDK

I usually put the spices on the chicken, then dip it an egg wash, before dipping it in the flour.
Never occurred to me to put hot sauce or cayenne on it. I season it with a ton of other stuff, but never hot stuff.

Popeyes by a mile.
Then Churches.
I hate KFC.
And that's really all we have in El Paso unless I've never discovered another place,
