Google, LG to debut Android 4.2 next month, report says
Gotta say. I'm not a fan of LG phones. Hopefully Google will force better quality constrains on LG for their new Nexus phone.

Google, LG to debut Android 4.2 next month, report says
Google will announce a new Android version next month, according to a new report.
At some point next month, Google will co-host an event with LG where it will unveil Android 4.2, according to blog Android And Me, citing a source. The Android tracker says that LG will take the opportunity to show off its Optimus G Nexus, a device that will be based on the previously announced Optimus G, but will run the latest operating system.
LG unveiled the Optimus G last month. The device comes with a host of impressive specs, including a 4.7-inch WXGA screen, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. The handset comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

What's the point in releasing all these cool new versions when so few carriers/makers seem to adopt?

They do? That's interesting because I haven't paid for an update to any of my iOS devices ever. (phones, iPods, iPads...)

Never again will I buy an LG phone. They are buggy and their source code is not open source, so you cannot even fix the problems. The G2x was a piece of junk after being advertised as the greatest phone ever (first dual core phone).

I don't blame them giving iOS6 away free, but that wasn't always the case. My wife paid for an iOS update for her iPod Touch a couple of years ago. It was a mistake too, because her iPod was sluggish and acted clunky afterwards.

The lengths to which you'll go to distort facts to disparage Apple are epic. They charged iPod touch users at one time for the upgrade, but that ended beginning with the release of iOS 4.

Excuse me? I just said my wife paid for an update and that is exactly what happen. Not sure what you mean by I distort facts. That was the only fact that I presented and it is a fact and not distorted.

Wait, why did Google choose LG when they just acquired Motorola?

They said they would be open and fair with Android and other manufacturers. I guess this is what they are doing. They own Motorola, but they let Asus make the Nexus 7.

rumor has it LG, Samsung, Sony, Asus are making nexus devices as a part of a "nexus program" http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/10...ation-program/
If its true I'd really like to see the Sony nexus even the Optimus G would make a nice nexus
