Lawfully, I'm sure he could claim self defense since she hit him first and he didn't have a clear way of escape with her standing in front of the door. Still, its messed up though.

Ha! I tell my wife that. I tell her, I don't hit women, but if a woman becomes man enough to hit me she is man enough to get hit back!

I was listening to Rovers' Morning Glory on the radio (based out of Cleveland) and they said she spit on him. To me, that's far worse than shoving/hitting him. I don't condone the actions of the bus driver, necessarily, but she got what she deserved.

On the other hand, there's a "call me maybe" remix video to this that cracked me up. I can't post it b/c of language, but it's worth checking out.

Okay, I just watched the video. They both got what they deserved. She clearly thought he wouldn't do anything to her and she was clearly wrong in that assumption. So yes, she deserved getting jacked up like that.

The correct thing to do would have been having her removed from the bus by a police officer. The correct thing for her to do was shut the bleep up and get the bleep off the bus.

The woman that kept screaming, "she's a girl" clearly thinks the same way that girl that got hit does. Hopefully she too learned that if you decide to put yourself in harms way, you had damn well expect to get harmed.

I just saw the video on a co-workers computer, and wow! From the sound of the uppercut, I was sure she was out cold. I don't hit women, but my Mom once told me, son, I don't condone hitting a woman, but once she balls her fist and takes a swing, she is no longer a woman, and fair game.
It's fortunate that the driver didn't lose control of the bus when she hit him, though judging from the guy in front of the camera losing his balance, he almost did.

There is another video out there of a teenage boy hitting a bus driver as he is exiting the bus, and the driver is knocked loopy. The driver appears to lose control of the bus momentarily and drives into some pylons or something. Fortunate no one was walking in front of the bus while this happened.

End of thread. End of conversation on this topic. You never hurt a lady. But this was a ghetto loud mouth chick who attacked first. I don't get this entitlement women have that they can do whatever they want like hit a guy, but if they come back at them...they pull the "I'm a girl" defense.

I have 0 problem with this. Women use the, "I am a woman" excuse all of the time. If you hit me or act violent toward me in any way, I don't care what you are...you're going to be dealt with, period!

He probably should be suspended, with pay, but should not lose his job. He should know not to punch anyone on the job but he was clearly attacked as well as harassed.

I think I read that he he has been suspended but don't know if it was with pay or if he has been fired since.

It's a shame if he did. I can imagine it's stressful enough being a bus driver. Then add some girl standing next to you, talking trash, then smacking you or spitting on you, whatever. It was definitely wrong to hit her like that. He could have just escorted her off of the bus. But, IMO he doesn't deserve to lose pay or be fired. The girl was entirely in the wrong.

On another note, I'm waiting for the guys who think men should never hit a woman no matter what to start popping up.
