You don't sacrifice the careers of some of the best players in franchise history for some guy to use your HC position as an internship. That'll ultimately be the result of the Jason Garrett era in Dallas. He's not going to get it done in Dallas. Whether he goes on and is successful elsewhere is up for debate, but in the end he will have used the Cowboys to get his feet wet.

You don't ruin what you have now, For the future. That's just dumb. Not when this team can win now.

Jerry will do what he always does. Extend JG and hang onto him for two or more years of failure until he moves on. Just like he has always done with the players, TO, Barber, Newman, on and on and on.....

If Jerry rides Jason until this teams window completely closes. Then he might as well keep him for another 5 years after that.
You either fire Jason now and give this group a real chance. Or you keep Garrett forever and give him a real chance to figure it out.
I'd get a real guy In here now and win with this group. Or at least give us a chance to

Jerry's bottom line will be hit before all of that has a chance to play out. As soon as that happens, Garrett will get fired. You can't keep selling this garbage and the team isn't improving. Once the guys like Romo and Ware really decline this team is not even going to tease us like they do now. They'll be completely hopeless.

I don't see many viable candidates that can win with this group. Select few, sure..but they are longshots

This is true, good head coaches need time to produce, BUT in true Jerry form he fails to realize he is making poor choices for head coach. If we gave Campo five more seasons would he produce something better ? No. If Wade was still here I think he would not have figured it out ? Doubt it. The same will most likely be said of Garrett.
So, Jerry will give him longer then anyone should but since the guy probably isn't head coaching material to being with it won't matter.

Very true. I think Jerry really sees himself as the HC most of the time nowadays and that the others guys are just to manage the offense/defense/ST. I bet he sits in on the game planning meetings to give his approval prior to the walk throughs.

Since you guys can see the future here's something for prognostication
BTW, if Jerry fired Jason now he would guarantee wasting time for Romo, Witten and Ware. New coach=new system + new coordinators
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Jim Harbaugh sure wasted a ton of time in San Francisco.

Yes, Garrett was, on top of everything else, a sentimental hire. The Garrett family has given years of service to the Cowboys and JG was the hero of the 1994 Thanksgiving shoot out. Its the same sentimental thinking that brought Campo back from the grave. Jerry just feels comfortable with him in the organization. The Parcells years were probably very tough for Jerry, even if he did grin and bear it for four years.

SF was a team on the way up with successful top picks all over the roster particularly the OL. Dallas was a team on the way down with a few stars, lots of holes, and a dearth of talent. That doesn't fit your agenda though does it. I would still give Harbaugh his due but comparing the two situations as equal opportunity is not valid.
You want to point fingers then point it at the right people.
The jury is still out on Jason and will be for awhile.

I don't mind giving a guy time to develop if he actually starts winning something. Get us in the playoffs, the next year get us deep in the playoffs, then we'll talk Super Bowls.
But I can't justify keeping a guy when the wins just won't come.
