Not to be funny, but Jerry's name is in the thread title. It wasn't like you weren't warned.

You replace 3 of your 5 OL positions and win. This is less about how they played than figuring out how to play with them

I got the feeling the coaches were in his head and about choosing his battles on when to fight for more yards and he couldn't put 2 & 2 together fast enough to realize this was a time worth fighting for a few more inches

Really? Couldn't be that he just lost where the sticks were huh? Just has to be that he's stupid.

Lol, did my comment really upset you that much? I'm not suggesting he's an einstein, quite the opposite.
When have we not seen him fight for every inch with guys draped all over him and virtually no chance of going anywhere? All of a sudden he just steps out of bounce where if he does his usual fight for every inch, he picks up the first down easily. Because it was so abnormal, it struck me that he might have been thinking about what the coaches had been preaching vs realizing what the situation was and what he needed for a first down, thus not bright enough to do both.
Is that really out of the realm of possibilities?
Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if it was as simple as you suggested.
Its funny what gets people worked up around here
PS..did you or a mod edit your post, part of it disappeared

The 2+2 remark is what bothered me. You made it sound like he was stupid or something. And maybe I am a little touchy because of the other comment in this thread. Either way, I'm sure he just lost where he was. As you said, he is always fighting for yards so he probably thought he had the yardage.
And yes, I deleted a part of it.

Of course, had he turned and fought for yards, he would have probably fumbled/had the ball stripped... that's just the kind of ridiculous thing that happens to Dallas.
Kind of like how Dallas seems to have more near/dropped INTs than actual INTs.

Gotcha, I wasn't trying to knock Dez either, just calling it like I see it. By that I mean I see a young, passionate kid that wants to win, doesn't strike me as a malcontent and seems to care what his coaches and team mates tell him. I think they can work with that. Him being young and trying to apply what he's being taught seems to overwhelm him at times and thats what struck me in this case.
I misunderstood your post and thought you were interpreting my comment as a defense of Dez going out of bounds and you were knocking Dez when in fact neither of us were, crazy huh?

Jerry was through a bottle by the time he made these comments, had to be.
We tell the team we have to move on from success" JG Oh how they have done that.
I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

I do call BS myself. My jaw hit the floor when I saw that. I said that pretty much sums up why we fall short year after year. Our guys give up before they have to.
I don't even care if he had the first down, he clearly chickened out when he should of finished the play by grabbing that extra 3 or 4 yards period.
but overall he redeemed himself, just glad it wasn't too late.

I think we were going to go no huddle, Dez was thinking about stopping the clock. I believe he was just having a brain fart.

I think he saw three defenders and made a business decision.

Knock off the general disrespect, people. Only warning.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

The same way he made a business decision when he ran through 4 of them later in the game?

Yeah he's been making business decisions since he's been in the NFL. It's one thing if he does this on a normal basis but he doesn't. The one thing Dez is criticize for is fighting when he should go down and this ONE time he steps out of bounds and people like you want to rip him. Give me a ****ing break with this business decision nonsense.
