I have heard that as regards O line the boys usually have the prospects graded a full round lower then any other team. Has been that way for years. Yet no change. Typical of a Jerruh run team.

Is he still on the practice squad?
I completely forgot about our eighth round draft choice Jerry Jones was just beaming about the day after the draft.

They had Anthony Davis of the 49ers with a third round grade. Rodger Saffold as well. Edwin Veldheer of the Raiders who has a future was tabbed for the sixth round.
Ah.
Memories.

Just another Robert Brewster...nothing to see here. He'll go away quietly by next year, if not already

Teams miss on guys all the time, let's not pretend Dallas is the only team to do so.
Wonder how many bad picks the Browns have made over the years compared to the "hit" on Schwartz??

This team is notoriously bad at drafting OL.
There are positions they draft well though....ILB and CB for instance, maybe TE. I almost wonder if that plays into their ranking. They stink at evaluating OL, they know it and, as a result, they subconsciously rank those guys lower and the positions they feel comfortable with higher.
A good GM would force that issue and challenge those rankings, but Dallas doesn't have that. He should also be bringing in new scouts if those employed aren't getting the job done. That might disrupt the wonderful group dynamic they have going on there in the front office though.

Arkin was a diamond in the rough.
Brewster was, uh, a nice guy?
We can go on and on and on. The team doesn't invest high picks in interior lineman because they feel they can find trash in the later rounds and coach 'em into diamonds. This is one of the biggest problems with the franchise. This garbage-shopping philosophy has really held us back.

But when we feel we need some cornerbacks, we shop on Rodeo Dr.

What is the deal with our scouting along the OL? Have we even made any changes with it? It's absolutely terrible. Moreso than any other position on the field. We just can not evaluate offensive linemen.

Total waste of draft picks.

Costa is in his 3rd year and last year he was forced into action as a 2nd year guy and showed at times he needed more seasoning which is why you guys dogged him so hard.
People are unreal the NFL is litter with linemen that becomes starters that do not even see the field until year 3.
So much hyberbole BS is all I see.
I agree if Arkin is not good enough to see the field next year then fine cut him in summer camp but to act like guys can not get better and contribute next year is smoking crack. Not every one hits the field ready to play in the NFL their first two years in.

I'd temper the enthusiasm on Ron Leary. He's not always going to be this good. He's got a chronic knee issue.

Arkin's trying to find the last remaining Twinkies.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.
2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.
3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.
4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.
5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free
