Default Cowboy buzz from NFP

Quote:
*The buzz in coaching circles says the Cowboys could keep much of their coaching staff in place even if Jason Garrett is let go. Jerry Jones had a hand in hiring many of the assistants, including Bill Callahan, who is one of his favorites. Whoever takes the job might have to be willing to work with the assistants Jones wants to keep. Someone with ties to Callahan who could fit in? Jon Gruden, who worked with him in Oakland.

Jerry never learns. This means he wants to hire another weak coach and not even let them pick their staff. The senile old man must go.

You know, as much as Jerry loves his control, I really believe a lot of this comes down to money. You pay all these assistant coaches millions of dollars each, and firing them all at one time really adds up.

How sad is that for guy whose team generates more revenue than most other teams combined?

If it's not a money issue, than he simply does not get it. In fact, he probably doesn't get it regardless.

I like the idea of Gruden as Cowboy's coach

This is a positive thread for me, it hints at Garrett losing his job and our assistant coaches aren't really bad. I wouldn't hate to lose Ryan but if it means pulling in Gruden I could care less

This is certainly a move that Jerry would make, I would veto every game of his tenure in Dallas.

What I would give for Jerry to go after Sean Payton.

I just don't see Jerry giving up on Garrett so soon.

I do.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

His attitude has changed dramatically in recent weeks. We've all seen this before from Jerry. First, it's 'no way' then it's 'well, i don't think he should be fired' then it's 'he needs to do better' and finally, 'we'd like to thank ____ for his hard work, but we've decided to go in another direction'

Keep losing and he's gone.

If jones hires a new coach based on the pretenses of keeping some assistant coaches, then he might as well keep garrett. What will be the difference? And i seriously doubt that a change the culture type coach will come here with these shackles already in place. All you hear about jones is that he's willing to spend the money, and now he gets cheap with coaches? Being a fan of this franchise is sooooooo frustrating.
