Default There is no threat of stretching the field - O-Line

I think when we talk about the O-line we all get peeved when they are bowled over and dominated.

But there is more to it than that.

The dink and dunk around the LOS allows the defenses to tee off on us and take chances.

We need to establish, at the very least, the THREAT of going deep.

THEN the O-line would get better YESTERDAY!

If you can't get your QB a few seconds how can you get Wrs down field?
We tell the team we have to move on from success" JG Oh how they have done that.

I know that when we do not have the kind of success, when we don't have expectations lived up to, the one that should get the most heat is the one that ultimately makes the decisions, period, with the Dallas Cowboys. And that's me."

This is a myth imo. You can throw the ball 30-35 yards down the field going shotgun with like a 2 step drop. While you're not going to have time to let things like deep crosses develop, you can still stretch the field.

You could, but then you have to hope your Wrs understand their reads.
So far that isn't the norm. This teams just a mess.

The dinking game is particularly deadly, IMO, for the Cowboys. Because when we run series with lots of plays, it asks for a lot of discipline and performance from the line. Eventually our line holds, or jumps, or gives up a sack that seems to always kill our drives around midfield.

That's a legit concern. You just have to do it against single safety high when you know your WRs are going to get man on the outside. It's a deep fade...not exactly that complicated. With a guy like Dez, you can just chuck it up there.

It's our scheme. Our TE's rarely chip block and our backs seem to go out I to pass routes instead of staying in to block. We know we have a sorry offensive line yet we run plays like we don't have a bad offensive line. That's part of the problem.

I was at the Washington game and 80% of the time Romo throws, it is off his back foot and he is ducking.

Ironic though I believe he had a clean pocket when he threw the pick to fletcher

It was a bad hire period. How does somebody change a bad culture who is already part of it?

Most of his throws this season has been like that. That's why he has soo many picks( lead the league by the way). Rooms mechanics has been piss poor this season. The qb coach should be fired.

It was the same thing in the first half of the Browns game as well.

Protection is a big issue because Dallas doesnt have any one that has enough straight line speed to scare the defense. Ogletree was suppose to fill that role and they have tried to take shots with him but most have failed miserably.

He has no choice but to throw off of his back foot most of the time. I don't think people fully grasp how hard NFL qbs get hit and the impact getting hit like that 15 times a game has. Tony takes a beating. There isn't a QB in the league that can physically just stand in that pocket and hit wrs.

You're right about that Fletcher pick, but that's one of Tony's least bad (lol) INTs of the year. He made a very, very good play to come off of Witten like that. 9 times out of 10 thats a completion and a big play.
