It's never going to change. Get use to it

And it shouldn't. They shouldn't let this stop them from drafting Pro Bowl talent in the 2nd round. Don't do it in the 1st round but in the 2nd and 3rd round? What do you have to lose?

You build through the draft. If they are wasted on guys who can't see the field, then you can't effectively build a team.

When you take a better talent in a lower round because of injury you're gambling on talent. I'd gamble on talent as opposed to taking a lesser talent. If you can turn a 2nd round pick into a 1st round talent then you've got something going. You usually don't get to do that without some risk or at least some delay in when they will start to impact.

Lee and Carter I'd not put in injury prone areas yet. Basically both suffered freak injuries this year. If they keep suffering them every year then you have to start wondering, or if they begin to see something chronic come up. An injury to an elbow and a toe ligament are two rather freakish injuries.

To me if we have the chance to get a 1st round talent in the 2nd round because they have an injury currently, as long as its not degenerative or concussion related I think you have to seriously think about it. I'm worried about concussions enough that someone who's already showing the concussion bug as someone I'd pass.

There's absolutely a trend going, as far as drafting injured players in concerned. But if you sit back and think about it, there's a little bit of genius to it. Injuries make a guy like Bruce Carter (who some thought was a first rounder at one point) fall to round two. In round two, it might be worth taking a chance on a guy with that much talent.

I've brought this up many times. Our good young players are made of glass. I never expect Murray to ever have a injury free season. Been banged up since OU. Sean Lee was injured at Penn St. Injured a little last year. Yeah they all have great talent but it means nothing if they can't stay on the field.

I get your point, but you're always a play away from your season (or even career) being over, no matter what your injury history looks like.

So you regret the Cowboys drafting Sean Lee and Bruce Carter? That's what it comes down to at the end of the day. I don't regret it. You are gambling in the 2nd round anyway. 2nd round picks aren't a sure thing to begin with.
