Default Should we trade a a good player for draft picks/free agents?

Do you think the Cowboys will trade one of our better players in the offseason to get help along the O line or other areas of need? If so who? Who would teams be really interested in? I think they may go this route since we have obviouse holes to fill and the draft may not be enough. Would Miles Austin get alot of interest from other teams?
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The pick you'd get for Miles wouldn't be worth it. If you want a good pick you're going to have to give up the Sean Lee's, Demarcus Ware's or Romo. No one is trading top picks for a running back especially one that's injury prone.

Miles is untradeable. No team team that isn't the Cowboys will give top dollar to a decent WR who can't stay on the field.

The players we could have gotten anything for will be gone in FA.

Jenkins and Felix both will be gone.

The only player we could trade and not kill the cap and get something in return is Romo.

Austin has three years of injuries and not staying healthy and his salary makes him un-tradeable due to the injuries.

no, for 2 reasons:

1) the return you get will be poor

2) guess who will pick the players with those picks..... JJ

If he's a decent receiver than what is your criteria for a good receiver? You have to have 2000 yards?

Well #1 criteria is you have to be able to count on a player to play.

Not sure Austin comes anywhere near that.

There has to be a team out there who sees alot in one of our players. There is ALWAYS teams like us who overpay for a player with average skills..Always

So Sean Lee is a "decent" linebacker?

A receiver that A, you can actually count on playing, and B, doesn't drop the ball and just puts up numbers because he gets thrown to a ton.

Teams just don't do it anymore. Didn't Brandon Marshall get traded for a 3rd or 5th rounder? Teams wouldn't even trade for Peyton Manning and his contract. With the salary cap and the fact that NFL shelf life is so low, there's no reason to trade anymore. Cowboys were the last team to overtrade for a veteran and that was Roy Williams.

Sure teams want our players but they're not going to trade a top pick for it when they can get a rookie for 3 or 4 years at a low salary.

So since Calvin Johnson leads the league in drops he's a decent receiver? I'm not trying to be stubborn but i'm speaking more on the "count on playing" part. Just because a guy is hurt makes him "decent"? You have to realize that players drop footballs. You just have to. I've seen Calvin Johnson drop more than ANYONE in the league this year.
