Your hate for Romo has overwhelmed your common sense. Fortunately, short of Luck or RGIII being traded here (HA) Romo is all but guaranteed of being here.

No response - he must of returned to his seat in S ection 444.

He won't respond. You can't just easily replace a qb.

That is a super reach Jones is a 3rd to 4th round prospect at best. Big arm and talented but to many questions about getting it done in big games etc

Are Ware/Witten/Romo the only players who have lived up to their extensions? Every time Jerry gives someone a big money deal their career falls off the table. Both Roys, Newman, Hamilin, Flozell, Barber, Austin, Free, now probably Ratliff. So much wasted money..

Sure you can. We could have traded for RG3.

Who the Cowboys? The Cowboys didn't have a top 10 pick to give up to get RGIII.

No, the hit on the salary cap hit accelerates, but Free doesn't get anymore money from the Cowboys.
Basically, Free's only negotation leverage is it hurts the Cowboys more against the cap to cut him than to keep him.
The Cowboys negotiation leverage is he'll never see the money he's getting in his current contract again, even if it's at a paycut, he's probably looking at a vet minimum contract to try out as a swing tackle for someone else next year, and Jerry probably doesn't want to pay $7 million a year for that kind of player regardless of the cap hit.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

How about drafting a QB, you know, a real QB? What a concept.
By the end of 2014 Romo will not be starting for the cowboys and the most popular phrase on the board will be..."see I knew we shouldn't have signed him to that big contract".

The cap always has been and always will be a joke. Every year it's the same thing, "the cap will prevent this and that". Teams have figured out how to work around the cap.
If the Cowboys want to get a player or keep a player, they will figure it out money wise.
The biggest problem they have is: what players do they want to get/cut/extend. This is the biggest problem they have and that ties back to the ability of JJ and Stephen as "football guys".

The problem is that the cap is NOT going up and will not be going up for at least several years.
Before with an ever increasing cap you could play games and such; now you cannot.
