Exactly. No one practices full speed all the time. It's not allowed by the CBA, and it would be stupid even if it was allowed.

For the most part, but he also is nursing some injuries and probably doesn't appreciate the contact during a practice.

Poppinga is practicing for a job and Vickers is practicing.

First of all.. I don't think anyone said anything bad about Vickers in all this.

I do like the intensity and a little craziness that Popp is bringing already though. Reminds me of the LB from The Replacements movie haha.

We need a little crazy on this defense.

Im pretty sure you're allowed to practice full speed.. and if you arn't practicing full speed, why even practice?

If its not a walkthrough session.. i see no reason not to go full speed. If you don't you arn't really learning anything anyway because reading and reacting at game speed is a hell of alot different than just half arsing it. You arn't preparing yourself for Sunday if you're just out there dogging it.

Hell man.. a couple years ago people were all over Anthony Spencer's jock over him saying he wasn't practicing hard enough and it was effecting his play in games.. now all of a sudden we expect guys to not be going hard?

Silly Cowboys fans..

Take it for whatever it's worth.
Problem is, with the new CBA, and the limited number of times you can practice in pads, pretty much all practices are in cupcake mode. Plus, with the number of injuries we've had, the last thing you want is for a guy to go down in practice.
There's always more to the story.

I want tough guys, not crybabies. If Vickers was pissed, he should have punched him in the face.

The LAST guy you want whining about playing through the whistle is your full back.

Someday, before I leave this world, I hope to get the pleasure of enjoying the Cowboys as a well coached, physical, hard-nosed, and intelligent team. Sadly, I don't have such hope. So frustrating.

There are stages of practice, I'm sure in that same day they were going full speed at some point but blowing a guy up when he's expecting a body thud is just lame.

Having a few loose canons in the locker room can be a good thing. However, there is nothing admirable about one player practicing at one speed while the rest of the team is following coaches instructions to practice at a different speed. That does nothing but increase the chance of injury. Anyone who's played a team sport at ANY level can relate...

I get it.

Maybe I am just tired of the "softness" of this entire team. There is NO ONE with a bad attitude. Just someone (anyone) who wakes up pissed and wants to make someone else pay for the mistake of being in his face... Mad dog mean. There is nothing "killer" about this team. Just butterflies and puppies. Feel me?

Please.. stop. If you have the pads on.. you should expect to hit and be hit. If you arn't, you arn't preparing for Sunday very well.

Maybe that's why this team never seems to be very physical on gameday.

I loved the Vickers signing, but.. "we don't practice that way"??

Really?? That's bs.
