In other words, there is exactly one thing to focus on -- winning the division. We are not getting a wildcard going 1-1, just not happening. Of course, I'd really like it if the Ravens could go ahead and beat the Giants, but that is probably not going to happen. Despite their loss yesterday, the Ravens clinched a playoff spot. The Giants HAVE to win their final two to guarantee a playoff spot. So we can talk all day about the Ravens being motivated because they want to win their division, play at home, etc. But the reality is, there is only one desperate team playing in that game and it's the Giants.

I consider this to be exactly right barring a miracle. We need the NFC East due to losses against Chicago and Seattle.

I disagree. Ravens look like ****. They still haven't clinched the division and so they will want to get back on the right track before they walk into the playoffs on the road. I'm not saying they'll beat the Giants but they still need the game for their psyche.

Again, that's all well and good to say, but I have found that teams can't really manufacture desperation. Your backs are either against the wall...or they're not. The Ravens' backs are NOT against the wall, they're in the playoffs. The Giants NEED both games and they know it.
I think this is going to be a Giants' blowout, we're gonna need to beat the Saints. And you know what? I think we can.

Not true. If we beat the Saints and lose to the Redskins, we can still get a wild card at 9-7.

I agree with you. Ravens have a lot of pride. I bet they win that game.

It's possible, but it'd be a long shot. I think we need the Giants to lose at least one game and Chicago and Minnesota to lose out. Seeing as the last game will be probably be flexed to SNF, we could actually clinch a playoff spot before our game even begins if all those things I just mentioned happen. It'd be nice to watch the game knowing even if we lose, we're still in the playoffs.

Yeah but do you really think the Ravens want to go into week 17 with a chance to be the wildcard if they lose? They'd likely have to play the pats on the Road instead of hosting the Colts.
I don't see a blowout in the Ravens/Giants game at all.
But I do agree the Cowboys can beat the Saints.

The Ravens are nothing short of horrible right now. They are in full on meltdown mode. Of course, we don't know which Giants team will show up--the bobble heads that lost to the Skins and Falcons or the Deathstar that obliterated the Packers and Saints?

As opposed to the defending SB champions, who looked even worse against the Falcons?

You'd think these 'not going to happen' takes would have stopped after the 'the playoffs are not going to happen, book it' takes were proven premature. Any number of things can still happen: injuries, upsets, missed field goals, whatever. It's going to come down to week 17, at least, which is something, and it'll probably end up being a wild finish of a year. Pretty cool to have the games still matter given everything this team has gone through this season.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

I'd agree with that. Too much premature thinking, like thinking the Ravens are going to beat the Giants.
