only bell and jones were invited in by our coaches...that was a clue

I'm sure when we come to this time next year.....that extra first round pick will be valued as a first round pick....not a second round pick.
Patience is a dying virtue....especially on this board.
The same people who are lamenting this trade today will be gratified next year because they will have more to talk about for the 3 months leading up to the draft.

My opinion is that Bell is the more explosive back...
Lets read what our friend Mel Kiper has to say....
Bell: One of the top pure runners in the draft, he can hit a home run at any point since there aren't many CB's out there who can track him down. Ran a 4.41 at the combine.
Jones: While he doesn't have great speed he can hit the home run on occasion. Ran a 4.5 at the combine.

Here's what Ourlads says:
Bell-A thin framed muscular back who has started since his sophomore year. A Straightline slasher who gets to the line quickly. Not powerful in his legs to drive through tackles and consistently get yardage after initial contact, but keeps his feet active and shows the ability to spring forward as he finished his runs. Get to the edge quickly. Good outside runner-turns the corner well. Has breakaway speed. Doesn't have sudden cutback ability or dynamic one on one elusiveness. All little impatient-tries to make his moves at full speed-doesn't do a good job of reading or setting up his blocks. Runs a little high. Fumbles some-needs to be more ball security conscious as he runs. Decent receiver. Quick in his routes. Has average hands. Is an above average blocker despite his ordinary size-attacks pass rushers aggressively and is quick-footed and active.
Julius Jones-Smallish but muscular and strong. Short strider who uses his blockers well and has quick feet to cut to daylight. Runs with good lean and leg strength. Can intiate contact and maintain his balance. Agile in traffic. Changes speeds well. Has a nice burst through a crease and enough speed to make the big play when he gets into the secondary. Turns the corner with a burst. Finishes his runs strong-shows the ability to squirm and spin for extra yardage. Not used a lot as a receiver but he's quick in his routes-has good hands. Gives an effort as a blocker but needs improvement in that area.
Yeah I'll admit Bell has better speed but I would say J. Jones is the better running back.

Hey Mike...he might very well be...I was only responding to who the more explosive guy is...Bell, IMO, is the best in the draft as far as his ability to take it to the house...
Thanks for the OurLad's report...I can't believe I forgot to buy it this year....DUH..
How did they rate Rogers?

Here you go sir...
These are the numeric ratings: Gallery 9.36, Andrews 8.82, Carey 8.58, Rogers 8.55
Rogers, Jacob--Starter at left tackle the past three seasons. A tall lineman with fairly long arms, good upper body strength, and the frame to carry more weight. Hampered a bit by injuries as a senior but he had a good year. Not an explosive drive blocker, but he's a tenacious battler who keeps his feet moving and usually stays on his feet. Combative. Goes after defenders a second time. Active away from the play-often looks to dive at defenders to seal the backside. Does a decent job of moving out an linebackers-not always smooth adjusting ont he move but he shows a good feel for angles. Secure pass protector. Flexible athlete with the ability to bend his knees. Sets quickly. Does a good job sliding laterally and reacting to defenders moves. Decent in his anchor. Very alert-is a head on a swivel type who actively looks to help out his teammates when presented the opportunity. Shows a mean streak. Solid prospect.

I guess they did it because the crop all looked the same.
I wanted SJ, but it isn't like he was Ricky Williams or Edge James. He was more of a William Green prospect. A lot of questions there. If you can pick a RB later and get your #1 pick back next year... I would do it. Jackson was not a "great" prospect. He was considered the best prospect in a class that didn't have great prospects.
I like the trade, but I will evaluate the production of all the players involved before I pass judgment.

Bill stabbed me in the back.
All off season I've been praying for jackson and when he is there at #22, we trade.
Unless these guys make the probowel in a couple of years Dallas fumbled the ball.
 Why jerry? : Why bill?
