Butler is 1/4 the man ware, so whoever it is playing there's no difference at this point

Butler's a pretty good pass rusher in his own right. We'll end up exposed in coverage and the running game, and lose something in terms of pass rush, but he's a legitimate pass rush threat on his own, at least. Between him and Hatcher and Spencer, we'll still get decent pressure.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

Yes, Butler can rush the passer OK. I'm more concerned about him playing the run. Washington's read-option with RGIII and Morris often puts a strain on the OLB.

Spencer has been our pass rush the past 6 games anyway.

If anything, Ware may not get to the QB but he has enough core and lower body strength to be occupy a tackle and collapse the pocket bull rushing.
We'd better find a way to adjust. Maybe this is where Cooley needs to earn his money by chip blocking Hatcher or Spencer for us. He's really our only TE that can block at this point. I've noticed Shanahan has less of a tendency to keep a TE in to block on passing downs than did Gibbs.
On the first drive of the game Hatcher came through unscatched...

Ware just needs to stop the run and stop shooting 5 yards past the Qb..I'll be happy if he does that.
Stoping the run is the most important piece of this game. Spencer and Ware have to be on their A games.

Ware and the entire Cowboys defense is going to have to play very good Sunday night or we're going to witness another win or stay home debacle.

Ware and the rest of the front 7 delivered a decent amount of pressure in the Thanksgiving game, hopefully somebody can step up tomorrow.
Seems like Ware should have been IR'd rather than cyborged after the Pittsburgh game, not sure that he isn't more than a decoy out there at this point.

...or perhaps a shootout in which we're the last man standing...

I don't see a shootout in this game I feel the cold weather will keep the points down. Washington is the #1 rushing team with RG3's knee still not being 100% I think they'll try and control the ball.

Either way I like our chances because we can also control the ball and the clock. I'm not convinced that their D is better than ours...

The Cowboys would have to be able to run the ball to control it and they've had trouble all season running it even with Murray. The Cowboys D looked pathetic last Sunday. With Ware not being near 100% can't say I like our chances. Their OL dominated our DL on Thanksgiving and RG3 attacked the center of our defense like Brees did last week. The Cowboys are really feeling the loss of Lee and Carter and with Ware being ineffective due to injury it could be a very long night tomorrow.
It's very difficult to beat a team in a do or die game on their home turf when they beat you a few weeks earlier on your home turf. The Cowboys found that out last season with the Giants. Washington's crowd will give them a huge lift it's going to be hostile. In the Cowboys 5 do or die losses under Romo 3 of them were blowouts all occurring on the road. Plus the Cowboys are not a very good cold weather team.

To answer your question, we beat you without Orakpo, so I don't see why you couldn't beat us without Ware.
