Everyone needs to look at Louisville center Mario Benavides. This guy can do it all amd showed up a great game vs Florida.

I think Benavides is too small. He may end up being a pretty nice LG though. If he could just get bigger and stronger, he would be perfect IMO. Lost of talent, just limited by his size at this point.

Everyone knew Jones was battling a sore foot, but the Rimington Award winner said after Alabama's 42-14 romp over Notre Dame in the Discover BCS National Championship that he played the game with torn ligaments in his left foot. Jones suffered the Lisfranc (midfoot) injury in the first quarter of the SEC championship game against Georgia on Dec. 1 and will undergo surgery on Wednesday. He'll likely be out for three to four months.
Jones' foot might not have even been remotely close to 100 percent, but the coaches were probably going to have to tranquilize the 6-foot-5, 305-pounder in order to keep him from playing in or missing any part of Monday night's game.
"They would have had to physically drag me off the field to keep me from playing in this game, and even then, I don't know if that would have worked," Jones said.

That is 100% my kind of player.

I hope that him needing foot surgery is enough to push him down to 47.

Too small? He is 300 pounds and can get stronger. He handled Slyvester Williams and Sheriff Floyd just fine. Also had a great game vs UNC.

If I'm not mistaken, the recovery time following surgery for a Lis Franc injury is pretty lengthy. If he requires surgery, he may very well miss the senior bowl, combine, etc. Last year the top rated center (Peter Konz) didn't go until the late second and he was 100% healthy. I wouldn't be surprised to see this drop Jones into the 3rd rd or even early 4th.

Didn't Konz have an ankle injury while at Wisconsin?

I know Konz had a dislocated ankle that caused him to miss some time his final year at Wisconsin, but I don't believe it required surgery. He was also able to workout at the combine. If Jones' lisfranc injury precludes him from participating at the combine I'd expect him to fall a round or two.

This is good news for us. We could take him in the 2nd or 3rd and give him ample time to recover before assuming a larger role.

Barret talked about the pushing his QB on the radio today.
Said the team took a long time getting to the LOS - dont remeber why, something about getting the play in - So he gets up the the LOS with 7 seconds, Then he made all his reads and calls and there was 3 seconds on the clock and right then the defense shifted so he had to make the adjustment and make new calls.
He said he and AJ were roomates and good friends, said that was just a little too much for his QB to be barking at them like that after the way everyone had played so well.
Somone said, "isnt it just like a QB to do something like that" dont know if it was him or Golic who said that and they both started laughing.

Barrett Jones was the worst of the 5 Bama OL in the NCG. Still quite solid but easily the least impressive.
I watched EVERY snap on replay and he was the only guy who ever lost any ground.
Chance Warmack is significantly better. I would not have drafted DeCastro last year at our original pick but I would quite happily take Warmack this year at 18 without blinking. He is ridiculous. I didn't see a single play where he didn't make someone from ND look like a small child. Bama ran behind him all night.

Love Warmack. And yes, taking at him at 18 would be better than burning the 14th pick on DeCastro.
The guy has some real explosiveness and nice feet. He rarely seems off balance or out of position.

First of all, no way Barrett Jones will fall all the way to 47. I guarantee someone will pick him before that, even with the surgery issues. Secondly, we'll be lucky if Warmack falls to us at 18 as well. He's showed why he's the best G prospect in years, and he'll have a solid combine. The Rams and Steelers both pick right before us, and both need O-Line help bad unfortunately. Plus St. Louis has 2 first round picks, so I could easily see them spending one on Warmack and the other on a receiver or DB.
Hate to take the wind out of your sails, cause I'd love to have both these guys as well, but it's not going to happen unless we make some trades.
