Nah, At least he got a discussion going.

That's something that will never happen on that other board. Where everything has to be Vanilla

Petitti - I took some heat for propping this guy last December/Jan. HE'S A FOOTBALL PLAYER! He was a day 1 pick going into Senior Bowl/combine. Came in a tad overweigh and was hurt. Great value pick.

I don't know anything about the Safety - he was ranked #32 by draftinsiders and the writeup I read said SS and i stopped reading. Can he play ST? LOL

be a guard for the Cowboys.

He's not athletic enough to play OT at the pro level.
Think back to former Parcells RT's ... Jumbo Elliot, Jason Fabini ... Parcells thinks that long arms, strength, smarts and technique can make up for footspeed at that position. If anything, he likes his guards and centers more athetic, because they have to pull and trap.

lame post of the weekend...complaining about a late 6th rd pick after a sensational first 5 picks...did you expect to draft walter Jones there?

I posted my opinion because I've probably watched him play 20 games. He was often beaten by speed rushers, he showed up at the combine horribly out of shape, and didn't impress.

He started for Pitt for 4 years. Big deal. Pitt was down to walk-ons on the second string recently, so we are talking about beating out guys who couldn't earn 1-A scholarships at even the mid-major level.

It is just my opinion. I think his poor conditioning and lack of athletic ability will result in a training camp cut. Maybe I'm wrong and he replaces Rogers, Tucker, Adams, or Vollers. Considering he blocked for two VERY mobile quarterbacks in Rod Rutherford and Tyler Palko, you'd be stunned at the number of sacks both those guys took.

I'm also not saying this is a bad draft. It looks like a terrific draft. My "wheels falling off" comment was in reference to how good it was going until that pick (once again, in my opinion).

I don't get too excited about how some pre-draft publication ranks a guy if I've seen him play personally. Something about forming my own opinion. If any of you have watched him play and like him, then we simply differ.

You're being a bit harsh, yes the kid is heavy but Parcells will get his weight down. The key is he supposedly has a mean streak and will maul people. Susie Kolbert said that he broke Freeney's sack streak in college. I like the pick.

This NOT a bad pick at all.

Hell, he's already better than Jacob Rogers. I think it was a pretty good pick.
Thankfully, I was smart enough to have never believed...

Where did Goose have James Butler and Brandon Browning ranked?

I live in Pittsburgh, that doesn't make me an expert on Petiti, but I've seen him play for 4 years. He had surgery on his shoulder before last season and gained some weight because he couldn't work out. He started for 4 years. He's huge, plays nasty and Pitt was primarily a pass first team, so he might be a better run blocker than given credit for because he didn't do that much. Also, Pitt did not emphasize strength training or developing offensive lineman, becuase they were more worried about the skill positions, hence the coaching change to Dave Wannstedt for this season.

I think this guy could develop into a solid right tackle with some coaching by Parcells. He's a Jersey guy which helps. Parcells likes those guys.
