Default A 4-3 what if

Would we possibly keep Spencer for another season and use a rotation of Spencer and Albright at SLB the way Denver uses Von Miller?

I don't know... neither of those guys are really 43 OLB's. They're both DE's in that scheme.

I don't think his contract would warrant his usefulness as a Sam, he's not really the type of athlete in space you want at the position.

I don't think we would pay Spencer what he wants. I think he'll walk.

Yeah, Hatcher's a good option at DE. Crawford too.

Eh, I'd rather just let Spencer walk so we can start on finding another edge rusher for the future. And Hatcher is too big/slow to play on the edge. He's an interior lineman in any scheme

I see Albright as a good SDE option.

He's not an edge rusher, I'm not sure if he fits in Kiffin's D either.

Tolbert was 270. Hatcher is over 300. He's not quick enough to play DE in a 4-3 and he's certainly not an edge rusher.

It is about the money. More reasons to keep him than not. I believe he could excel as either SSLB or pass rushing DE in a 4-3. Remember Hailey and Tolbert werent exactly big for 4-3 ends.

Don't count out Victor Butler! The kid had 26 sacks playing DE in a 4-3 at Oregon State. He never wowed anybody playing the 3-4, but I believe this would be his more natural position. Kyle Wilbur also started out as a DE and moved to OLB when Wake moved to the 3-4. Dallas has more capable player for the 4-3 than what people give them credit for and guys like Crawford, Butler, and Wilbur could fit well.
