I'm certain there is some equation that causes one to think these things will pass.
However, my opinion is the only time Dallas will again assume their rightful place at or near the top of the league is when Jerry passes.

Speaking of the need for an equation...that was pathetic.

I keep hearing Gruden's name alot but has any team asked to interview him?
"It's little bit like the description of pornography from years back. It's hard to define it. But you know what it is at the end of it. It's hard to define it. I think you know who is more physical. Often times you see that in the fourth quarter. A lot of time the team on the other side feels it. We pride ourselves on being a physical football team. It's important to us. It's an important time of the year to lay that foundation." - Coach Garrett

Gruden has a better chance of taking Garrett's team to the Super Bowl than Garrett does.

I think the hiring of Kiffin just sets the stage for the hiring of Gruden as the new Cowboys head coach sometime in 2013 or 2014.

I think his agent has a big number and teams like the Chargers, Bills, Cardinals are not going to come close to it. Gruden won't go to a qb wasteland like KC, Cleveland or Philly.
Chicago was always going out of the box to get their guy like Atlanta did with Mike Smith.

If it was Garrett's call, it is brilliant insurance if Chuckie was ever a possibility.

I originally agreed that it set the stage. But as I pointed out, someone who works for the Buccaneers says they do not get along at all. So the stage is not set, and that probably is not opinion or speculation. If Gruden comes it will not be because of Monte Kiffin, and if he comes Kiffin probably leaves.

I'd expect Zimmer rather than Gruden.

Yeah, I think everyone hated Chucky's guts by the end of his stint in Tampa. Kiffin was the first one to abandon ship by announcing he was following his son to Tennessee in December.

Despite labeling myself a "realist", no one understands my pain or appreciates my special truth. Stupid world.

Its clear Jerry is giving Garrett another year. Hiring Kiffin, although it may be a good move longer term, it will all but gaurantee that not only will they ignore the Oline problem and attempt to get Kiffin the guys he needs in the draft, but will most likely assure that the defense will again be a work in progress. That, and the fact that our Oline will be horrid once again will almost gaurantee, along with the bumbling of Garrett running the offense, that we will be a 500 team once again and miss the playoffs.
Hopefully, this will also assure that Garrett will be fired at the end of this year and we can get a real coach in here. Gruden would be amazing. Gruden and Kiffin all over again. Ill take it.
