well they gave him permission and he is now on the bears staff.
Nick Eatman is saying this morning that usc lb coach joe berry is not coming here with kiffin.
he and eagleton also said they are getting the sense that all of ryans staff is staying.
which means only rob ryan was removed.

But we've had quite a bit of major special teams gaffes that have pretty much cost us games.

And yet nothing changes.

Every special teams coach teaches basically the same thing. Kick, punt, catch, run, get back, block.
If you have Deion, your punt return team is awesome. If you have Felix Jones, you're kickoff return team sucks. Has nothing to do with coaching.

Wow. Really? Now this is bizarre to me. Eberflus, even?
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

Does that sound like John Garrett is gone regardless or has left for a specific opportunity?

That makes more sense.

And yes it has been really bad. The blocked punts, the missed assignments, the unnecessary squib kicks, the horrible return game until Harris emerged, etc. Harris and Bailey saved Joe D from looking worse.

You are correct...it could get better.

Agreed....the way Ryan talks about Eberflus it seemed like man love between the two would be too strong to keep them apart as long as Rob had a DC or HC job.

So just a warning...as bad as the ST unit has been and the ST Coach has been (if you think it has been really bad)...it could actually get worse with another coach being brought in...we could go back to what we had before him.
Reminds me of an old saying in the Army. Your current duty station is the worst and the one you are getting ready to go to is the best.
It is just another grass is always greener on the other side of the hill/fence saying and many times we find out that the grass is not better and in many cases it can be worse.
Just something to keep in mind.

S/T gave up 3 touchdowns last season, are you saying we could give up more ? I don't ever remember a Cowboys team giving up that many TD's.

This. This....and this!
That drives me nuts. Just beat them to the 20 and if there's a hole find it otherwise, call it a day. I have never understood putting running backs at KR who approach KR's like running plays...
