Talking Cowboys 1/17
* Broaddus says there are 3 guys Callahan and 2 other guys that are in the running for playcaller. He's trying to find out who the other two are.
* Decamillis and Cowboys are both fine with the move of D to Chicago.
* Watch for a guy named Joe Berry LBer coach san diego st. And marinelli in Dallas.
* Broaddus brings up two names for St coach. Bobby April, and Steve Hoffman.
* Monte Kiffins def brings a dimension of getting off the field on 3rd down with that blitzing CB, Broaddus brings up Scandrick has a knack for doing this good.
* Do you truely think Dallas would draft a G at 18? Their looks say it all. LOL they dont seem to think so. But they go into Warmack and Cooper. They say they could do more with Cooper. But Cooper doesnt finish like Warmack. Cooper better for screens and pulling. Warmack is just the mean nasty guy mauler.
* Broaddus says again he doesnt think Dallas releases Free.
* Kiffins defense in College were big at turnovers and sacks.
* Email on 3 names:
Marcus Lattimore RB
Eric Fisher T
Sam Montgomery DE
3 names on getting better. Guys from LSU havent really had alot of success.
* Again on Free
Broaddus sees Cowboys using Frees provisions in his contract to get money from his contract they can use elsewhere. And says this is why he will be in Dallas.
* Dallas will probably get a 3rd round comp pick for Spencer in '14
* Walt Williams was the guy who coordinated the stretching lol. Not brought back
* Ratliff at Vallery Ranch working out. Good sign.

Hey Latin, I appreciate you posting these recaps.
Thanks!

That seems odd, considering he only managed through one year of college before he decided he wanted to go back to the NFL.

Please let it be Bobby April and not Hoffman for ST coordinator.

Rumor is Lane Kiffin wants him back, whether he goes or not is another story.

I read that Rod Marillini is his father-in-law. It helps to have the wife on your side of the argument.

Thanks for the recap LatinMind.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I like Eberflus. Did a terrific job with Lee, Carter and Spencer. Hopefully he stays.
This was one part of the team that wasn't broken (in the figurative sense).

Eberflus is a good coach. But he wont stay. Once Rob calls he's gone.

Like others, I have a very hard time imagining Eberflus staying now that Ryan is gone. I do like Joe Berry though. If this staff can come together, I think Dallas will have done a very good job.

Ryan has to find a job first.

He was hired by the Rams as DC about 3 days ago.
