How many times has Peyton Manning underperformed in the playoffs? He was notorious for it before he finally won a SB. Even Tom Brady has come up short in the playoffs numerous times, i.e. yesterday. But they're all-time great QB's.

The point being, it's incredibly hard to play QB in the NFL, even harder to lead your team to the SB. And this notion that every win or loss falls on the QB is ridiculous. Yes, they control a vast portion of the outcome, but there's 50 other players the team that play a huge role too. Defense and special teams are just as important to winning in the playoffs.

How so? You act like romo has never played with weapons before. If history is right he would be where he is today. He has never won at any level. The Cowboys have gone as far as making this team "romo friendly" how has that worked out so far?

Who cares about the past. There is more football to come.

Oh, and Romo will be there, with the team.

They never actually made the team "Romo friendly". That was Jerry lip service that he never fully followed through on.

I know right. I have heard on countless occasions that QBs prefer crappy OLs and running games.

I have read on here that some of you "Would rather have Matt instead of Romo". Sorry for the wake up call, guys, Matt Ryan is a choke artist! Some people have no idea what we have in Romo 'til he's gone. Let's be honest here, you can have Orton playing for the Falcons and they'll still be in the playoffs year in and year out.
I see as little reason to disparage Ryan as I do Romo.
"'Room' always makes me chuckle. That's irrelevant. What we have on a given day really doesn't relate to what you're ultimately going to have and how you're going to manage."

Elway won a super bowl when

A) He had the defense
B) He had the running game
C) He had the weapons on offense
D) He had the right circumstances (i.e. Didn't have to beat the Cowboys, 49ers in the super bowl, he got passed Pittsburgh and that was it).
In the final two months of 2011, Romo’s passer rating was 115.9.

If Romo had a good coach like Mike Smith, and that good of an offensive line in front of him, he would be a Super Bowl winning QB by now.

Ryan is a good QB. He's not better than Romo at all.

Actually, it's 1-4, but your point is well taken.

If you google "win or go home romo" you get more than 500 relevant search results.

Try the same thing with "win or go home ryan" and the only relevant result is this thread.

I certainly try to avoid having conversations with those who have clearly decided to be anti-Romo no matter what.

But I will say that it surprises me how hard some Cowboy fans work to make sure Romo gets torn down. "Well Ryan's recent loss was in the NFC Chamionship game" or whatever. They are determined to cling to whatever can show our QB in a bad light.

Precisely... it was a term created by the media for Romo only because his playoff record wasn't bad enough. You will never find a reference to another quarterback and the statistic, and you never heard the term before Romo either.

I would still go with ryan! At least he gets his team to the playoffs!
