I don't know that Jerry's gearing up for a Gruden run (if that was his plan he'd have already done it) but it's obvious the writing is on the wall that Jason is on his last leg here.

It's not like we've been in back to back NFC championships and just not closed the deal.

They won't. Don't understand why people has this love affair with Gruden.

I like Chucky a lot. He's not coming here and Garrett's not leaving for a long time no matter how much they fantasize. The only way he's leaving is if we completely flop in 2013. Not going to happen.

Just curious Hostile, you don't think a similar season to this year would leave Jerry in the position to fire Garrett. That surprises me.

the only Question is whether Garrett can improve on 8-8 and the answer is probably not with dramatic change on defense and inability to improve the O-line in one season.

There's really not a whole lot that separates "sneaking into the playoffs" and winning the whole damn thing.

I sorry, but this argument is senseless. People possess the capability to understand things without having to have participated directly in them.

It's more like 15 years. In fairness to Jason, though, he hasn't been here all that time.
He's simply the most recent in a long string of coaches who have been unable to turn things around.
When he had the interim tag removed 2 years ago, I remember a number of posters who expected at least 10 wins the following season. I was one of them. Yet, here the team is 2 years later, and it hasn't sniffed 10 wins.

We've been knocking on the door for two years now, and we've got room for improvement on the roster. We're going to get better and better no matter how depressed people are in January. They'll be back predicting NFCE Championships before the season starts and dreaming of Superbowl runs after the first string of two or more victories. (And unbearably angry after the next subsequent loss).

Thanks, Idgit! I need to seek out more of the bolded part!

Anything is possible. We've seen dramatic turnarounds in places like SF and Seattle, really all it takes is a solid offseason and a great draft. But it does seem unlikely at this point.
