Didn't see that one coming, anyone know more about him?
Im a UT vol fan and happy to have him. He isn't a good head coach but he is a good positional coach. He coached up Hunter and Patterson.

This is a Garrett hire all the way.

Default so.....

was Robinson forced out or is he retiring? Never heard for sure....I liked him very much but I thought he got hit on the sidelines during preseason and sustained a concussion....can anyone confirm? Anyway, I don't know too much about Dooley but what I've heard and read isn't too great.

he was the TE coach for the Dolphins under Saban and then became a head coach at La Tech and UT.

I heard he was retiring due to medical reasons and will still be with the team but not enough time to be a coach.

I was talking about any past experience he had coaching WRs.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I believe Robinson will be a consultant for the team.
At that moment a voice came over me and said, Look up, get up, and don't ever give up. You tell everyone or anyone that has ever doubted, thought they did not measure up or wanted to quit, you tell them to look up, get up and don't ever give up. - Michael Irvin

Dez didn't want to see Ray Sherman go.

TN had two very good receivers in 2012 (Hunter and Patterson) but I don't know how much he had to do with them as HC.

I like the hire.

some quotes from volnation board...

With that said I'm not surprised at all. I actually told someone the other day I wouldn't be surprised if garret hired Dooley to replace his brother, that just "moved on" to the bucs this past week, as TEs coach. Garrett and Dooley are really good friends. Plus add the fact Dooley's wife is from FTW.

LOL-ing at the thought of Doofus trying to coach Dez Bryant. He'll have pulled all his hair out by midseason.

Damn, I cannot get away from that guy.

He'll do fine as a WR coach.

Hilarious, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.

Best of luck to Dools. I swear, based on this thread I would say most of our fans are pure, unadulterated a-holes..

He's probably a descent position coach. Just not a head coach. I bet he'll do well. Saban didn't keep him on as a position coach for no reason.

I know we rarely receive an explanation but this one is puzzling. I'd really like one as I really liked Robinson. Can't find a reason.

I'm worried about Dez. Im always worried about Dez, but now Im really worried about Dez. Can this Dooley guy keep Dez in check and make sure he is doing what he is supposed to be doing on the field or will Dez walk all over him?

Interesting hire. Definitely Garrett all the way.

Is Cally really going to call Garrett's plays?

If so it will be the dumbest move to date.

Have to assume no one else would take the job.
