Because when preparing for the game it's more important to mimic the throwing ability than the athleticism

That's a set up question by Stephen A. If Ware said something like "whatever the team thinks is best, I'm fine". It would be turned into "Ware wants out of Dallas". The media does a fine job of "creating" drama, this would be a huge story.
I don't think Ware ever wants to leave Dallas.

And the monetary investment in guys that were not 1st rounders (Ratliff)...we should be getting more out of this unit.

I would say he's talking about the team as a whole; the offense turning the ball over and the defense not taking the ball away.
EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw the update from WG.

Exactly. Don't just blame the offense. The defense needs to generate turnovers. Not just 7 for the year.

And the problem with the Cowboys?
It's about consistency and mistakes. Can't have mistakes in big games. Can't have big turnovers. This league is all about turnovers. You can't give 2, 3 turnovers a game. It gives the other team more opportunities to score. All about the turnover battle
|
This is exactly right. We were among the worst in the NFC in both giveaways and takeaways, so which side of the ball doesn't really matter. But this is the reason Rob Ryan is sitting at home, make no mistake.
And I like what he had to say about not upholding the tradition of the Dallas Cowboys. I think, more than anything, that's what gets under fans' skin, because there has been such great tradition for so long, and this team has so much potential and they just can't take care of the football and play consistently enough to win enough games against really good teams.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

It's why if I'm a defensive coordinator I wouldn't go out of my way to contruct a defense to defend it.
Teams aren't going to want to expose their QBs to those types of hits too often. I think there's a place for it in the NFL but in a limited capacity.

I'm assuming DeMarcus was just being nice with his comments about Rob Ryan.
Best coach he's ever had? Seriously??
Give me Wade Phillips as a DC over Ryan all day everday.
Edit: My bad. I see that he said "one of the best" he's had. DeMaurcus hasn't had many coaches as a Cowboy so I could see that.

Either way, there's no disputing that RR was a very popular coach among the Cowboys defensive players.
It also calls into question stories about him maybe not being as hard a worker as he should have been. You can't fake that sort of thing. I also think JG's comments about what a good coach RR is were probably sincere. Many probably won't agree with that, but I'm of the opinion that RR was just never liked by Jerry Jones, and that the lack of turnovers and limited improvements to the secondary after spending a lot of money on that problem really unraveled his tenure here. I also think they're serious about bringing in a system that gets more takeaways, and that's pretty hard to argue against when you see the success other teams have had in that regard.

Ware was just on Rome and basically indicated that he was pretty pissed about Ratliff's arrest for DWI.

I'd love to hear this, or see the transcript. Good for him if he didn't sugarcoat it, too.

....my thoughts exactly, RRyan paid the price for lack of TO's. Are the players on the Def going to continue to blame it on the Offense, or the next Def Coor?

Mike Golic HOF Lobby @MikeGolicHOFInc
If all @NFL players were as grounded as @DeMarcusWare, there would be no off-field incidents/fines. Impressed w/ him on @jimrome show.
