Drupal
Anyone use this before?
I have to use it to start re-designing the company website and have never touched it before. I'm thinking about seeing if they will sign me up for a class to learn more about it. I was hoping someone on here has used it before and could give me a few hints and tricks.

Drupal is great platform and when you know what you are doing you can really optimize your website speed and functionality. If you have previous .php knowledge then I would say its a great choice. If not I would say WordPress would be the easiest thing and most effective tool for a small business. That is what we build our clients websites on currently.

I've used both Drupal and Wordpress to build websites. Both have plusses and drawbacks. Drupal seems a lot more clunky than wordpress to me. Both have extensive plugins and both require php programming in order to do custom stuff.

Yeah, I'm a Network Specialist with the Arizona Department of Gaming so it's a government website. I don't have much say on what we will be using.

Network Specialist -> Website redesign? Yup, sounds like a government agency.

haha. I had a little website design experience and so they assigned me to it. I'm not complaining, it's kinda fun dabbling in this.

Go old school with HTML.
I once built a huge website for my fantasy football league in HTML back around 2000. It was a fun learning experience but I have no desire to go back into webdesign. It's way past me now. I'll stick with managing the servers they're on and networking them to the world.
