Among Cowboy fans, one could argue plenty..To the rest of the football watching world (sports world in general)? Idk, I thought people would be grateful for his many gifts.

Why are people always surprised by these? The lists are a combination of true jerkfaces like Vick and Armstrong and people who get a lot of press that people don't think they deserve like Romo.

Fans and players alike want their team covered and they get annoyed when ESPN does yet another Cowboys segment, even if it's negative. And deserved or not, Romo gets as much ink as any QB in the league. That annoys fans, so when they're asked about who they hate, they assign that to Romo.

It's stupid, but it's also pretty consistent.

Absolutely nothing!

But here is why it happens anyway, IMO:
1. He is quarterback of the Cowboys, whom many hate.
2. A surprising number of people hate anything from Texas because of the political/culture wars.
3. Some sided with T.O. back in the day...against Romo...and have never stopped hating him since. (Deion for example)
4. Jealousy because of his lovers and now, his wife.
5. Some people, I believe, view him as disingenuous...because he generally dishes the don't-mean-a-thing sound bytes that athletes sometimes use. Not sure why this deserves hate.

The inclusions of Te'o and Romo are comical as neither have outwardly done anything to warrant idislike. Te'o was the VICTIM of a cruel internet hoax. By all accounts he's a class kid of sterling character. Romo has always conducted himself with class. He may be over-hyped but that's not his fault. He's simply a cog in the 24/7 media machine that thrives on conflict.

Romo's inclusion on this list is easy for the rest of America....he gets a boatload of press, attention and media...and he hasn't done anything to earn it. That isn't me saying it, just why he's on the list.
