Matt Johnson... what exactly is he?
What exactly are Johnson's strengths supposed to be? If he is healthy is he our next great free safety or a strong safety with more speed than Church?

Good-sized with a well-proportioned, toned build, Johnson is a tough, competitive, coachable strong safety with good linear athletic ability. Plays with and trusts his eyes. Drops downhill and supports the run aggressively — gets proper fits, runs the alley and takes effective angles. Effective in halves or thirds, can run with tight ends and has good hands to intercept (17 career interceptions). Smart, experienced four-year starter who made secondary calls
Matt Johnson
Height: 6005
Weight: 212
40 Yrd Dash: 4.52
20 Yrd Dash: 2.60
10 Yrd Dash: 1.52 (Earl Thomas and Claiborne had a 1.56 at the combine)
225 Lb. Bench Reps: 18
Vertical Jump: 38 (very good for any position)
Broad Jump: 10'01"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.07 (better than Claiborne's 4.12)
3-Cone Drill: 6.84 (better than Claiborne's 7.01)

He's a good sized prospect who showed some ability to make plays on a smaller-school level (Eastern Washington).
He showed good instincts and smarts in college, but we'll see if that translates to a solid NFL career. You just never know with the small-school guys.

Agreed.
It's not looking good for him, but I do remain hopeful.

He came from a small school, but his highlight reel is against many big schools. I think we're all in for a big surprise contingent on if he ever gets healthy.

How long has he been a white safety?
It's a message board, that's what the topics are for.
What I don't understand...insistence...disdain...It's one thing to feel that way, and to say so. Why try to make other people agree with you....And why pretend...Disagree with me all you like...Don't start twisting mine or getting frustrated just because I don't want to eat the other half of that crap-sandwich you made for yourself...Because I don't happen to like crap sandwiches.

A 4th round pick who played at a small school. And was injured all yr. IMO he wont be any better or worse than Church.

E. Washington is a top level FCS school thats plays in arguably the toughest FCS conference in the Big Sky. Solid prospect, but he needs to get healthy.

Yeah, it's not like he was playing against Texas Div. II schools all the time. He actually faced some decent competition.
