If i were Ware i'd hit him with a Libel lawsuit.
"They say it makes your testicles shrink,'' Bonds said. "I can tell you my testicles are the same size. They haven't shrunk. They're the same and work just the same as they always have."

If you mean that totally wasted question and answer column that is contrived, the answer is yes.
But I hardly think his contributions would be considered the reason the DMN is losing readership.
Or that he actually writes that garbage.
I suspect that Hansen is asked the questions over the phone and someone does steno work to garner that article.
I doubt very seriously he ever sits at a typewriter and pounds keys to offer his sage thoughts on all things Cowboys.

Well, he could have easily made it out to the Ranch on draft day and asked Ware this very question during the conference call.

His comments about Ware were shtick, people.
He followed it up with a comment to Bob, the guy from BaD radio, that he also gained the same amount of weight and didn't take steroids.
His point was more to the ridiculousness of the NFL not researching players in the shadow of the player who admitted to taking steroids, rather than a slur at Ware.
I have issues with Dale and his opinions. But this was purely The Ticket comedy.
Weak?
To be sure.
But it was not meant as an insinuation that Ware actually took steroids.

They are both owned by Belo Corp.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.

That is true JTerrell. But I'd hardly think his television drivel has an influence on what newspaper the average dallas citizen reads.
Which was the implication of the original question.

Well, if he gained over 50 pounds in the last couple of months then Dale might be right.

The problem with DMN is the shutting down of the Dallas Times Herald in the late 80's... yes... the DTH was a bad newspaper, but competition lends to a better product...

Hansen is still a jack arse. When I started college I was 245 soak and wet, when I was done playing I was 295. You don't have to take roids to gain weight all you need is a good weight program, genes, and natural maturation.

Dale is just a classless old jerk. I'm sorry he got jerked around by switzer in the past but he really needs to retire. That interview/cross examination with Aikman was an embarassment to anyone who listened.

I didn't catch it, but if it involved Dale Hanson, then it came from one of two trains of thought which overshadow everything he says about the Cowboys. Everything he says is a riff off of (1) his bitterness about being wrong about Quincy which he has since then done nothing but suggest Quincy was screwed because of racism and is actually better than any quarterback ever or (2) his bitterness that BP won't give him the time of day.

Dale was truthfully being tongue-in-cheek. He went on to say he gained height and weight at about the same levels during his teens. And couldn't spell steroids.
However, he did have Aikman on and was trying mightly to get Aikman to agree that perhaps the game has passed Parcells by.
Aikman did take issue with the Parcells comment that you can play with an average quarterback if you surround him with talent.
But he also said he would have loved to play for Parcells.
dale is just playing the Devil's Advocate. A posture he loves to assume since he has a grudge against jerry for dismissing him as the sidekick to Brad Sham for game telecasts.

Dead on Accurate.
It was funny because Aikman would not take the bait that Hanson was trying to throw out there...and yes even Dale, Bob and Dan all agreed that at that age they all grew a great deal.

Well, Merriman packed on 20lbs so that he could play DE. I guess he's on roids too.

At the age of 16 I was about 6'2 or so and weighed approximately 150 pounds.
By the time I turned 17 I was about 6'3 1/2" and weighed 190 lbs, with no weight training and still having a slender look and being in good physical shape and have never taken any "enhancer" or steroids in my life.
11 years later I'm the same height but weigh 185 lbs. Just about any athlete taking steroids these days doesn't surprise me. BUT, you can put on a lot of weight with ease from the ages of 16-25 years old.
Ware is a legit 6'5" tall and reportedly has an enormous wingspan. There's no doubt in my mind that the weight gain he had could have come from proper diet and weight training as it could have come from steroids.
The problem with suing idiots for libel like Dale Hansen is that libel cases are a pain. The accuser has to prove that the libelous action is untrue AND show that it damaged them in some way (i.e. monetarily or emotionally).
Plus, libel cases are often drawn out and thus cost a lot for attorney costs, that's why most people do not bother unless it's some action that really did harm them and it's an open and shut case (so they can get in and out of court fast).
